Sometimes, I take a used and abused base-model car share EV on a 1,600 km road trip from the coast to B.C.'s central interior, during which I provide ad-hoc airport shuttle service for meeting attendees, and everything is fine because we have a reliable, low-cost, publicly owned charging network.

A remarkable sight in Canada. The street is lined with cars. Not trucks and SUVs, but cars. It's like being transported back to the 90s, to not be walking beside a wall of RAV4s and Ram 2500s.

People keep telling me that EV infrastructure "just isn't there yet" despite not driving an EV and not knowing anything about charging stations. In BC, fast chargers are all over the place: in rest-areas, at gas stations, on campuses, at parks, and so on. Every highway has coverage.
