A creature assembled from found footage. Bram Stoker Award Winner, Georgia Author of the Year Award winner, Crawford Award + Shirley Jackson Award Nominee. Author of the novels NIGHTJARS (9/29/26) & THE OCTOBER FILM HAUNT.
Made this to leave as a comment under garbage rather than waste precious time arguing with idiots/bots. I don’t know who the original artist was, but feel free to steal it for yourself!
You have no memory of this. There is only a blank spot. But a photo can't lie.........right? Nightjars calling 9/29/26 from @stmartinspress.bsky.social. read.macmillan.com/lp/nightjars...
A legend, a presence who gave my heart a lift whenever he appeared on the screen, a versatile actor who always embraced the horror genre. 78 is too young, and it sure does feel like the good ones die before the villains. Rest well, Sam Neill.
In light of the Supreme Court further attacking the trans community today, I wanted to shine my small light on this beautiful, harrowing, hopeful, wrenching book. These essays depict the horror genre as a beloved life raft during desolate times, and we should remember that as we read and write it.
Time is flying by, especially the nights. September 29th from @stmartinspress.bsky.social. read.macmillan.com/lp/nightjars...
Happy 112th birthday to Robert Aickman. Not like we're counting. As he said himself, "There are no beautiful clocks. Everything to do with time is hideous."
The October Film Haunt has won a Georgia Author of the Year Award! Another beautiful feather in its cursed cap to go with the recent Bram Stoker Award win. Surreal and just lovely. Thank you to the judges and to the red Georgia clay in my blood. www.authoroftheyear.org/2026winners

I'm pretty floored that I seem to have won a Bram Stoker Award for First Novel! 😱 Thank you to everyone who voted for The October Film Haunt, and congratulations to all the winners and nominees. What a ballot and what a horror community!
The people, the awards ceremony, the horror love infusing every seam and corner...I am sad but I hope everyone has an amazing time in Pittsburgh. ♥️
Trying the trope trend for the first time. Early reactions to NIGHTJARS have been so good that I must find time to crawl out of the woods and yell about this novel more often. Out 9/29 from @stmartinspress.bsky.social. Pre-orders are *huge* for authors, if you find yourself intrigued. 🖤
Today and tomorrow are the last chances to enter the Goodreads giveaway for a free paperback ARC of NIGHTJARS! Smear some blood on your face: www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

I'm so glad! I see this photo all the time because Google always selects your YouTube review for the top, and I'm reminded of how much I appreciate it. I hope you love Nightjars!
A Nightjars moment, out of horrific context. September 29 is crawling and rushing closer.
My debut horror collection, Greener Pastures, is 10 (!!!) years old today. That’s pushing 250 in book age, but it is still finding readers all these years later. And I’m still blubberingly grateful.
Dirty Three, Atlanta, 3/28/26 - wonderful show - the drummer, Jim White, seems to be staring directly at me in the photo I took
The new episode of @craftworkpod.bsky.social is live! Mike and Miriam focus their podcast on just that — the craft of the work of writing — so I was honored and nerding out during our great conversation. Deep-ish and fun and hopefully a tiny bit insightful. creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/...
Tomorrow is the last day to vote in the Bram Stoker Awards. My novel The October Film Haunt is a nominee in the First Novel category, and it’s a crazy honor. Thank you to all the voting members who got the Pine Arch Creature this far, and if you want a last-minute read, DM me for a digital copy! ♥️
HWA voting members! The October Film Haunt is a Stoker Award Finalist in the First Novel category, and per the etiquette and rules found in a tomb in the woods, I'm offering a free digital copy for your consideration - feel free to DM me. I couldn't be more honored to be on this ballot. 📼♥️
