@sbworkersunited.org, Central Labor Council of Nashville and Mid TN, and several Metro Council members are calling for Starbucks to respect workers’ right to organize in their stores in Nashville. We’re hearing from many of them here at the downtown courthouse where council will be meeting soon.

The rules change to require a mandatory 60-day deferral for zoning changes within council districts. Because it’s a rule change, it would have to be a supermajority.
Rules change like this requires a supermajority. The committee voted against and we had a number of speakers. Motion fails 12-14-1
CM Suara objects to TN Dept of Homeland Security’s (TDOSHS) access to patient data and presence with patients during EMT training by RS2025-1440. Says she’s a no vote, but appreciates backstops including ability to unilaterally end the contract by Nashville Fire Department. Resolution passes.
CM Horton’s bill on the Nations passes. Several no vote CMs leaving before companion bill votes.
Looks like support for Horton’s bill/Benedict’s deferral may be lining up together? Or this is where people like to stand to see the debate better.
