I am utterly enthralled by the posting quality of the xenonauts mod community. You'll have a guy who desperately wants to make the long war but doesn't understand what makes the long war good going into every single thread about his mod and acting like he has made the thirteenth labour of hercules

The developer of the x division mod is replying to a poster criticising his dogshit mod. the quoted post he's replying to reads "X Div is boring. I fall asleep playing it, it's basically xeno + extra health and resistances for aliens. Where's the challenge exactly?

The ai for this seems to be run and hide and wait. The player either has to advance and usually get slaughtered because they have zero chance really, depending on the rng map layout or leave. Nothing in the design makes sense, you can't destroy buildings or walls, with grenades or if you can it must require tnt or rockets. Unload a shotgun point blank and the sebs just stare back at you, the ai can calculate exactly which tile to stand in to be out of los for snipers, snipers basically can't move to shoot, so never really have anything to shoot at.
It's boring. Original Xcom UFO Defence was an excellent game, because it was FUN to play. It was balanced. You have a shed load of new stuff in X Div but frankly.. can't be bothered trying to dig through the boredom of playing it to that point. Hell of a waste of time and coding to just ruin it by giving the aliens silly resistances and forcing the player down very exact and specific research routes.
Such a shame really. What a few dozen people enjoy could have been shared by thousands, even hundreds of thousands."
