I know some people love Cormac McCarthy but this type of prose in Blood Meridian is mentally exhausting to parse.
The only public water fountain I noted in Basque country: a 50m water line run up and over a street to a nearby building. Incredible juryrig. American cities could never.

I’m sad to inform you that our “fuel” costs have skyrocketed to $200/yr this year. Dang datacenters!
In 2023, our Tesla cost $99 to fuel for the entire year. We get roughly 3 mi/kw so this is about 5000 mi of driving.
Huh, I bought a textbook on particle physics off eBay and it appears to be a bootleg. It‘s the size of a paperback, images in it are quite poor quality and the author bio on the back cover is wrong.
