Giving my paper on uses of poisons as methods of assassination in Roman imperial courts at the University of Lodz in Poland in May. Not often I get to venture abroad for academic conferences but there’s another one in Sicily in September, where I’ll be talking about Greek tragedy.
For those who wanted to know what my paper was about, here’s the abstract.
Time to start thinking about my paper for this year’s CA conference: Augustan coinage, the inscription on the Arch of Titus and this from the Temple of Isis at Philae in Egypt.
I like to imagine that this is what the Forum of Augustus was meant to look like.
