Elon Musk says he’ll take a million people to Mars as backup against the collapse of civilisation - while he’s installing politicians who’ll kill net zero: Trump, Advance UK (after Reform UK), AfD. What's going on? Blog/tips
Does your business have a system for handling complaints? Don’t follow the example of British Gas, where my Case Handler has ignored repeated requests to provide an update after the promise to resolve my urgent issue in “a few days” was broken, much to the embarrassment of its social media team.
Two months after British Gas admitted it had trashed my credit rating in error, the latest Experian update shows the false allegations of missed payments still there. This Kafkaesque nightmare means I may lose my father’s house.
Journalists please contact me for my nightmare story of British Gas gross negligence following the death of my father that has seen my credit rating trashed so I cannot refinance a mortgage on his house. British Gas has admitted culpability, but two months on has still not corrected the error. 1/2
@centricaplc.bsky.social I informed BG in March of my father's death and opened my own account. BG incorrectly logged payments missed when my father's bank was frozen to my history, trashing my credit rating. BG still hasn’t corrected this, so I’m unable to refinance a mortgage on the house.
It is reported that Andy Burnham will announce plans for new oil/gas drilling in the North Sea. If he starts out breaking manifesto commitments as blatantly as this, the pressure for a general election will become irresistible. Very foolish. Labour Party manifesto 2024 ⬇️
Why has the media turned on Farage? Partly because many journalists are in the X echo chamber and Musk has skewed the algorithm to replace Farage with more extreme politicians. He said as much, sharing this post shortly before he spoke at Tommy Robinson’s London rally in September last year.
Game over - report on the Globo.com website in Brazil: “Brazil eliminated: how many days until the next World Cup and where will it be?” “1434 days… 3 years, 11 months and 4 days… only 205 weeks…”
Well, let’s see if this poll on Threads proves to be correct if Andy Burnham does indeed take over from Keir Starmer.
Save money on family tickets to Mamma Mia with Starmer’s summer of fun VAT cut. This prompted the theatre to extend a family promotion that has saved me over £100 for three tickets. The commentariat mock this initiative. Do you think it will be popular?
This passage in Al Carn’s resignation letter struck me as unintentionally contrary to his own argument. He is pitching to spend even more on multi-billion pound platforms. But this makes it sound smarter to develop the systems that are a millionth of the cost and more effective. So, big savings!
Strong words condemning Musk.⬇️ But as I’ve argued since before Trump’s inauguration, journalists and politicians can neutralise Musk’s influence: understand and explain he is serious about the fantasy he repeatedly posts about. At least ask why the EV guy backs politicians who will kill net zero.
The rest of the policy post by Rupert Lowe MP, whose Restore UK party is backed by Elon Musk in the Makerfield byelection. Musk previously called for people to vote Reform UK, but switched to backing Tommy Robinson and Advance UK last year (which stood aside for Restore). See post 3 for why. 2/
Here is the policy platform of Rupert Lowe MP.⬇️ Elon Musk is backing his Restore UK party in the Makerfield byelection. Among Lowe’s plans for the death penalty and deporting foreigners ask yourself: why is Musk, the EV guy, backing politicians who, like Trump, will kill net zero? See post 2. 1/
Starmer is on the right track. ⬇️ I’ve explained Musk’s endgame since before Trump’s inauguration. See my blog. In part, Musk wants to topple Starmer as his government defends the Outer Space Treaty, rejecting Musk claiming Mars for a fantasy base to survive the collapse of Earth civilisation.
Media coverage of Starmer has changed. The headlines are now about his opponents. He is getting on with governing and many of the most disadvantaged will take advantage of his targeted summer cost of living measures. While the commentariat sneer, this may cut through to the people it is aimed at.
How could he stop the negative headlines about his leadership, Starmer wondered, while showing challengers within his party that being PM was not as easy as they seemed to think?
Starmer blocked Andy Burnham from running in a by-election he could win to challenge him, while likely handing the Manchester mayoralty to Reform. Starmer kills the local election results and Mandelson stories by allowing Burnham to run in an by-election he’s likely to lose and continue as mayor.
It turns out that Keir Starmer did sound out Angela Rayner for the post of Health Secretary, as I suggested as soon as Wes Streeting resigned, but she turned him down, according to The Times.
One Tory act of vandalism following their 2010 victory was cutting funding to Gordon Brown’s Sure Start programme, eventually closing 1400 centres, which had made significant differences to life chances. One of Starmer’s failings is not shouting about bringing them back. I only found out today. ⬇️
Still no new appointment for Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. Share if you'd like Starmer to appoint Angela Rayner (has work and union experience in the care sector). And reinstate her as Deputy Prime Minister (Lammy has another job to do).
The Labour Party plotters are playing into Elon Musk’s hands. He told Tommy Robinson’s London rally on 13 September that they could not wait four years for the next general election. Post 2 - Musk incites violence to usher in the far right. Below, the Daily Mail starts the drumbeat for a GE. 1/
Interesting thought about Mandelson, McSweeney and why Streeting is to challenge Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership. Is John McDonnell MP on to something?
Yeah, right, but Musk is already calling for racial violence and civil war to bring down the government. Asylum seekers hotels have been targeted before. Tommy Robinson has another rally coming up. Many were surprised at the turnout last time because they hadn’t spotted Musk boosting him.
If Miliband becomes Prime Minister despite losing the 2025 election, it will be weaponised every single day. Musk is already inciting racial hatred and violence to bring down the government. Those who claim the UK is not a democracy will have further justification for revolution.
Well, Iran hasn’t opened the f**king strait, but Trump has extended the ceasefire indefinitely. As he’s continuing the blockade, the strait will surely remain closed.
After Trump said the Strait of Hormuz will no longer be used as a weapon… Iran closes Strait of Hormuz over US blockade. It’s almost as if Trump doesn’t have a clue and even with the world’s most powerful military at his command is not in control of events. 2/2
What Trump said. Post 2. Iran closes Strait of Hormuz over US blockade. 1/2
More TACO. Iran said it would close the Strait of Hormuz until the bombing of Lebanon stops. Trump has PROHIBITED Israel from bombing Lebanon and announced a 10-day ceasefire and summit. Trump now portrays Iran opening the Strait as his victory.
