I don't know if I can recommend it for everyone in the world but the first game I just forgot to eat or sleep for was Grandia, an RPG made from the ground up to push my buttons specifically. Presentation that went in the opposite direction of FF7, writing that is optimistic but heartfelt.

So continuing the current theme of the household, whilst the wife makes it through Legends Z-A I gave Pokémon Shield another go. Observations: - less bad than I remember, kind of just a 3DS+ sort of game - I didn't make it very far first time but my nicknaming was on point - it's so dystopian 😐
So I started fiddling with the NES version of the Bard's Tale on an old handheld. I think it's quite nice, but I've not left the initial area, just walked back and forth enjoying the battles.
Got the current primary school tummy bug off the big girl. Mostly fine now but... Kais is actually too fat for me to move in my weakened state 😅 Send help 🤣
