Traffic stops are nothing but "stop and frisk" with cars--subterfuge searches lacking probable cause. If you really want to address speeding and safety issues, you install cameras and mail fines, freeing up police to investigate actual crimes. Doubt me? See rest of the world.

13 years.... Blue 1 when I was White 1. I stood by him when he married Shelley with the JOP before we deployed. I was there when he heard he had a boy on the way, "I hit the TC's engagement!" We messaged as I was wrapping up my tour in OEF and he was coming back...nervous. And then, you were gone.

1943 and 2026. Used to walk by that photo every day in the Pentagon. Made my way back to San Pietro after 20+ years. A special place, and sacred ground for the US Army.

On this Memorial Day weekend we lost a great one. John Quinn was a USMC 'Nam vet who became a Jesuit priest then volunteered in his 50s to come to Iraq to be on the front lines. Our small team adopted him as our chaplain. To this day I credit him with all of us being spared moral injury and PTS.

We lost another one this year. RIP Sean Taylor---I wish you were not on this list.

I designed the final engagement of our platoon live fires to suppress an objective. The idea was to demonstrate to the platoon (esp the leaders) the necessity of disciplined fire. Initially they had a blast pulling triggers, then reality set in when they started running out of ammo.

Shut up and take my money.
