So for the store's Instagram I'll usually put up a cover detail of one of this week's comics for the New Comics post, and this week there was only one image it could be.

At the shop I used to work at, we had several window paintings, and I wish I had photos of all of them (esp. the Tank Girl one, done when she was still just a character in DEADLINE U.K.). But I do have these two, painted by our pal Randy Martinez.

I found the name of this shop stamped directly on the back of a comic, so I looked it up...long gone now, but someone on Reddit had a pic of the shop's front door. Just look at it. LOOK AT IT.

I was just thinking, "boy I hadn't bought a good, sizable collection in a while," when these walked into the shop. (Or rather, rolled in, they were stored in luggage.)

The first of, believe it or not, several glow-in-the-dark Swamp Things that I own. One would think he glowed in the dark in the comic all the time, but faithful reader, he didn't do it a whole heck of a lot.

Look, these just happen to be the only issues I have left from this particular run of reprints, I can't be held responsible.

I would display CRACK COMICS with SPEED COMICS in the case at my old shop simply to amuse myself.

When I was a kid, I was fascinated by the Twiddlebugs, a little family of critters that lived in a box on Ernie's windowsill, where they'd live their lives and solve problems and do tiny things. Perhaps the origin of my appreciation for George R.R. Martin's "Sandkings."

That is what the "DC" is based on, but the name of the publishing arm is in fact "DC Comics." Here's a pic of the publishing info from ABSOLUTE MARTIAN MANHUNTER #12, which just came out this week.

Saw a pic of a Cybertruck with "WHY SO SERIOUS" DARK KNIGHT Joker imagery on it, and I would have had at least a modicum of respect for it had this been the imagery instead.
