Have you ever experienced a child's question about God that made you stop and think deeply? What questions do you have as an older adult that a young child might not consider because of your life experiences?

Since the 1940s and 50s, our culture has shifted to age-specific groupings. While this can be helpful for many aspects of life, it can also be problematic. Different generations need each other to learn and grow. How has your life been richer because of someone 20 years older or younger than you?

Instead of looking at an older adult and seeing frailty or weakness, look with new eyes that can see valuable life experience.

From workshops on decorating walkers for an in-house parade & trivia competitions on US History to ice cream socials, horse-drawn carriage rides and showings of documentaries on the history of America, I appreciate senior communities that are helping older adults celebrate America’s 250th birthday!
