This is giving me a little bit of a Bad Day on the Midway vibe (though the collage-art ultimately works a lot better than 1995 3D models rendered in Quicktime). Very cool!
Also, let's not forget Carmelita Fox. Great character design, excellent conceit for those chase levels, delightful relationship dynamic with Sly...
Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam or Alice In Chains
Odysseus (Dante calls him "Ulysses") relates this story of hubris in Inferno, as his soul flickers inside a giant flame, which is Hell's punishment for givers of fraudulent advice. (His pal Diomedes from the Trojan War is there with him, indicating they're also being punished for their war crimes.)
This talk was a HUGE inspiration for me in my first project as a lead designer. As a writerly designer, I'm very comfortable producing reams of detailed prose documentation. This talk pushed me to create more visual docs and display them on the studio walls where the team would encounter them daily.

Two of my more successful bonsai in development: A Chinese elm (larger, green leaves) and a barberry, which is a “shohin” style, meaning it’s small enough to be held in your palm.

After we designed 175 unique abilities for Beast Breaker, someone had to create 175 ICONS! @stopboorider.bsky.social not only made them look awesome, he designed a whole visual vocabulary: Framing & directionality communicates component slot. Background colors/patterns = gameplay properties.
