Dappled sunlight on one of the many containers on our deck. Fresh gem lettuce every day, coupled with scallions in another planter every day, snow peas to come. Doesn’t taste any better than that, and beats the daily increasing prices at the grocery. 🌱 #veg

Stealth planting to prevent the deer from finding and munching this lovely Purple Speedwell pollinator. Planted by the foundation and nestled between two yellow/green pine shrubs with sharp needles. The bees were happily buzzing on this in peace a few seconds later. 🌱

A tale of resistance. Bluebells planted in two separate locations. Location on right says “No way deer, you won’t keep me down. I’m fighting back.” May we all be as resilient as nature. 🌱

Simple pleasures. We are growing as many vegetables as we can in containers this year (not only to thwart high food prices and the voracious deer, but it’s also good for body, mind, and spirit). First batch of spring onions thriving. 🌱

We had a 56 degree temperature swing in less than 24 hours. I knew we were getting rain, but didn’t expect this abomination on my way home this morning. Ice, sleet, snow after a high of 88 degrees yesterday made for some hazardous driving conditions.

This book was such an enjoyable read on the pros and con of a Brit becoming an expat in Denmark - I read it in 2024. I re-read the e-book in 2025 and there are some updated sections on the country and her experiences .
