Nothing compares to the rush of clicking on a glowing orb and being met with a hearty "donk" in response
My Rotary MIDI Sequencer UI is pretty much done! Still working on the SFX, and I need a better save/load system but I'm happy with it so far. It's a good sign that I keep going in to test one thing and accidentally spend 15 minutes making a new track.
Another thing I'm very excited about is that MPTK lets you render live played notes into a real MIDI file! It transfers a little wonky, but that's part of the charm.
Takes a little getting used to, but making music solely with loops and speed ratios is actually pretty fun!
Multiple Rotary Discs can be activated in a Loop, each assigned to a midi track. Rotary discs contain the note data and FX sends. The speed value acts as a ratio of the BPM. Each Rotary Disc can have multiple control discs, which control MIDI CCs. Their speed value is a ratio of the parent rotary.
The sequencer is made up of a hierarchy of Loop Discs, Rotary Discs, and Control Discs. The loop disc is the main container and controls scale, BPM, etc
Delving into the depths of the MIDI mines and uncovering horrors lurking within. I've been working on this weird little MIDI loop sequencer for a while now and it's finally starting to take shape. Here i was pushing it to it's limits and testing out the new filter cutoff and resonance controls.
Working on some new fish behaviors! They now school more strongly when idly exploring. They can also line up a jump and breach the surface if there's something interesting up there.
To do it just open up Skylab (the Skybox editor) and go to the IBL tab. 1: Check "Use HDRI Image" 2: Click "Use Sky" and pick a resolution 3: Click "Export Image" and you're done
Always discovering cool new things you can do with Bryce. Today I found out you can directly export your project's sky in a bunch of different layouts and formats. You can even export them as HDRIs!
Working on some fish behaviors. Made their movement a little more natural and added a point of interest system. I've been watching them swim around all day.
Couldn't stop thinking about these cool ass monsters from Xanadu so I had to watercolor one
That last one feels kinda Ma.K? The stance, hands and cyclops eye make me think of the grosser hund. These are all so good
Been struggling with gamedev motivation for a while now, but I have been practicing painting. These were painted with gouache, then inked over with a pen. I think it's a cool look.
Obsessed with these (Bryce?) renders from Total Annihilation
CRT pics featuring GITS on PS1. Been learning some more about how CRTs work and it's kind of incredible that these things exist.
In my messing around with old rendering software, I found out some had lens flare systems built in which was pretty neat. They looked similar to the old photoshop flares. Here's an example of one I rendered out (not sure what bsky is gonna do to compress it...)
