This picture is from the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse festival in Kerrville, TX. Look at how high that bridge is above the park and river. Videos today show the river only a foot or two below the bridge, with debris and whole buildings being swept along, slamming into the side of the bridge.
Jupiter on the left, Venus on the right. They’ll move around a bit from night to night, but they’ll both be there just after sunset almost all of June.
American Family Fields of Phoenix, Brewers & Padres. 105° now, stadium has 20 places to buy hot dogs, sausages, brisket, nachos, popcorn… ONE place with ice cream (Dippin’ Dots ™️), way the hell and gone out beyond right field. What’s wrong with this picture?!
Today was my 70th birthday. Did something weird, fun, and special. What a long, strange trip it’s been, as they say.
Post a perfect album from the 90’s that isn’t Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice In Chains
Circumzenithal arc (i.e., “upside down rainbow straight overhead”) over SoCal yesterday.
SpaceX launch tonight out of Vandenberg as seen from LA. Left side high, between trees & street light, second stage just before SECO. Just to the left of the street light pole, lower down, the bright dot is the reentry burn of the first stage!
That’s what my wife keeps telling ME! When I ask if she’s a fan of The Addams Family, she just walks away.
Sadly, in Los Angeles it was cloudy the last several evenings, completely socked in tonight (see photo), and supposed to be raining tomorrow and Monday!
Everyone was fine in the end! Good luck tomorrow! EGBOK - Everything’s Gonna Be OK!
For my 50th birthday - didn’t tell ANYONE in advance, totally spur of the moment on my way home from work!
December 1st - to all my friends under a few inches to a few feet of snow today, I’m putting up more Christmas lights in 74° heat in Los Angeles!
We probably don’t deserve your presence with us, but I’ll take it! BTW, I saw this and immediately thought of you!
