A turkey and her brood came to visit my library today. I'm glad they stayed outside, but I complimented her on her littles.
Collection maintenance influences use - people don't want to check out a grubby game. It also keeps the collection fresh. Weeding helps keep space demand down.
#Alaac26 here I come! Thanks to @amtrak.com for providing reliable transportation!
The weather is beautiful here today. I dressed in light colors and my new favorite plaid shirt. #HappyEarthDay
'Slapdash': done too hurriedly and carelessly; haphazard, slipshod. Yep, that seems about right for my 2026 word of the year. Thanks @merriam-webster.com!
Why is this spot on? Not sure I like the color, but the description is :chef's kiss: poomang.com/en/t/mycolor...
I am sitting on the floor in my kitchen. I would be crying if I had any tears left at this point. Just because this holiday is over doesn't mean this season is, nor does it make everything else instantly easy. Be kind to yourself and the people around you in the next few weeks. #mentalhealth
#NorthernLights from our back yard! I took 9 out so we could watch for a little while. If we weren't in the 'burbs I bet they'd be even more vivid. #Minnesota #Nature
And then there were jack-o'-lanterns. It's been A Day, so I am trying to stay positive and remember that my favorite holiday only comes once a year. #HappyHalloween #Samhain
Yesterday I woke up and enjoyed a fire by my bedside. I finished my book, I had coffee, talked with friends, and enjoyed the brisk fall day. Today I woke up in my own bed as my alarm went off. I'm back to work and already dreaming of when I can get away for another weekend of nature and quiet.
I present Berber English's guide to ways of describing burnout. Me today: "Where to begin, for my faculties have been exhausted by perpetual toil, and incessant application has so stripped me of vitality that I am scarcely able to summon the strength requisite for the smallest effort."
Excuse you New York Times, "glutide" is a word - how is it not in your word list? @nytimes.com
My kid turns 9 today. I am so lucky to see them grow up into a wonderful, kind, thoughtful, curious, silly, smart, and loving human being. 💗😍🥰
Visiting the tide pools and Yaquina Head Lighthouse today. The cobbles (beach rocks) are so smooth here that they bounce. Fun to see all the starfish, anemones, baby crabs, tiny fish, snails, mussels, barnacles, and other sea creatures.
