Today is the #WorldMosquitoDay 🦟 And I’m happy to get bitten by them so that everyone else will not have to, one day! 🥴 Not only are mosquito bites annoying, it can spread deadly pathogens. Let’s keep funding scientific research so we can continue to #fightthebite 💪💪💪❌🦟
@plasmidsaurus.bsky.social got us good. Sarina (undergrad) as the artist 🤝Songjun (grad student) as inspiration with his favorite Dino
The scientific dad (my PhD advisor) paid a little visit with his family during picnic day! It’s worth pointing out that his daughter standing next to me was only six years old and MUCH shorter when I first started in his lab as a grad student 😅
Entomology at Picnic Day is popping off!! Longest line I’ve seen all day 😱
You know that it’s almost Picnic Day @ucdavis.bsky.social @ucdaviscaes.bsky.social when you see this outside of Briggs!!
One of my lab’s undergrad student made these mosquito cupcakes to celebrate the end of the quarter 🥹
Freezer boxes emptied and moving boxes packed. I am coming home, UC Davis @ucdavis.bsky.social 💙💛💙💛
Happy 6-yr anniversary, Carlson lab! 🥹 It has been the best 6 years of my scientific career and I’m going to miss them so dearly when I leave 😭 The best career advice I can give to the young scientists: find a mentor, mentees, and lab that you love. It makes science so much more worth it.
This may be the darkest of times, but I won’t let it stop me from celebrating this little moment: I received the keys to my new lab @ucdavis.bsky.social today ☺️ #ScienceMustGoOn 🧬🧪🦟
Second floor of Yale Science Building = best floor!!! Another year of successful white elephant gift exchange 🎁🎄❄️
The newly renovated Yale Peabody museum is looking extra festive for a holiday party tonight! 🎄🦖🦕❄️
This one was special as I got to share my current work with my old department. Thanks for having me, UCI Physiology & Biophysics! ☺️
Had a wonderful time sharing my work with the Synapses to Circuit (S2C) community at UCLA. Thank you for the invite Jeff Donlea & @ceazarnave.bsky.social !! The invertebrate neuro community was especially great! 🪱🪰🦟🧠
