Missy is not the most observant of sentries. #AndMissyToo

Missy, sleeping on the lawn in the shade of an umbrella, completely unaware of the squirrel bouncing across the lawn in the background.

Missy is suddenly awake and looking at the camera. She is still completely unaware of the squirrel, which has now frozen, not because of Missy but because they realize there's a human watching them.

Unaware of anything interesting happening, Missy's eyes start to close and her head starts to droop.

Back to sleep again. The squirrel waited another minute or so before scampering off.

Missy has had to have some matts cut from her tail as she'd been rolling round and got pine needles stuck in them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Her humans have survived with only minor flesh wounds, germolene has been applied. As have consolatory meats. #AndMissyToo

A clump of brown fur, alongside a pair of clippers.

A handful of fur in various shades of brown, looking like someone scalped Marmalade Atkins.

Missy stood at her bowl, holding fresh meats. She is looking at the camera with a disappointed look on her face. There is a pompom of floof at the end of her tail, for about an inch or so, then the rest up to her bum is clippered short.
It could've been a lot worse.
