I am so fucking PROUD of myself - my bergenia started growing some flowers!!!!!! 😍😍😍🌸

I'm pretty sure this is bergenia purpunascens, and it's been dormant for a long time now, before I even moved to the house. I trimmed away so, so many leaves, leaving only this smaller patch almost untouched on the side of the bigger one and now this one has flowers growing! I'm so happy, so very happy c:

In the image are some lightly purple-pink flower buds growing out of the ground, somewhat hidden by the plants leaves.

Not me casually spending my morning today making SURE that no frog nor mice slowly drown in my rain barrels by adding a strip of velcro to the edges of said barrels and then attaching a piece of bug net on top 🤭🤭😅 It may LOOK stupid and ugly but if it works, it works! 😅🤭

Water barrel #1! Easy clean, easy strip attachment, easy bug net attachment.

Barrel #2! Had to shoo a big spoodie mama out of the barrel, though, but she went without a fight and hid under the slats of the deck. In this one, the strip is more visible, the previous one is in the background, in its place already where it remains until late fall, maybe a week or two before first snow. I can smell whenever it'll arrive so I can easily get clean up done before.

I just love drying my laundry outside on the rotating drying rack thingamabob 😌🩷🌸

A partial pic of front yard and front side of the house, of where the rotating drying rack thingamabob is located, on which there's a selection of towels and a duvet cover drying - or at least trying to, as they were put there just minutes before the pic got taken. A gentle spring wind flaps them around every few minutes or so, they should be dry within the day.

A bit MORE yard work done, this time a different section of it, but just as needed to get done because I wanted my solar fairy lights onto the small trees 😅🤌 The long "cord" was a hassle and a half to get untangled at times, I managed to invent several new curses (which I will not be repeating) 🤣😂🤌

If you look closely, you may see some of the fairy light strings around the trees, "hopping" from one to the other loosely enough to NOT HARM the trees in any way or form (I already did probably enough damage with the branch clippers)

A bit of yard work done~ Still need to clear out a bush from underneath a kitchen window, but I am not sure if I have any energy left for that today 😅🤌

Cleared up some old leaves and stuff from this area, making room for more growth, it's still OBVIOUSLY not finished but I will get back to it soon!

Behind that rock is the assigned bio/yard scrap. Yes, I decided that. I will probably end up clearing up the area itself way later but it's definitely not this years problem.

Cut down some old growth and newer sprouts from underneath the lilac tree, making it a bit less top heavy as well. As much as I, by myself, could. Without having access to some ladders or anything of that sort.
