I keep running into console-themed wristwatches on auction sites and I've never worn a wristwatch in my life but these are still hard to resist. Resisting the Game Gear one is easier since it's $250+ USD, though.

My time would be even better if I hadn't failed to recognize which Mario characters comes from an egg. Logic dictated that it would be the turtle, but it turned out to be the green horse. Ridiculous.

I've ran into a few more of these "Panorama Screen" Game & Watches, which used mirror trickery to display color sprites on a handheld in 1983-1984 (nicole.express/2023/gaming-...). A technical marvel. Also, they got Snoopy in there. Too bad the cheapest one is $200+.

Bowie was such a comics dork that he wanted to turn Watchmen into an opera (according to Darren Aronofsky: www.suicidegirls.com/girls/anders...). I firmly believe this would have been the one good Watchmen adaptation.

DRE: You came really close to directing Watchmen.

DA: I got involved and I got that setup at Paramount and then they fired me. Well they didn't fire me, but they wanted to go now. They wanted to be in pre-production in January and I've been working on this for six years and I clearly have a hard time doing two things at once. I can do one project well so I couldn't really do it. As soon as we setup, they got really excited and wanted it in the summer of '06 and I was like, This isn't a film you can rush because if you fuck it up there's going to be a lot of angry people. The funny thing is that when I went to meet Bowie, one of the first things he said was, Oh, are you doing Watchmen?" It turned out that he was developing an opera out of Watchmen. I was like, If I do this film and I fuck it up, I'm going to piss David Bowie off. The reason that I got involved is because David Hayters script and I thought that it was a great adaptation. I thought that it was better than any of the Sam Hamm scripts. I wish them all the best luck but I can't do it that quick. I have to take my time.

Spotted an early Game Boy Advance TV out mod from 2001 called "TV de Advance." I'm told this works "by using a new back half with a connector that intercepts the screen ribbon cable" and it "isn't too good." Why not just use a GameCube GB Player? Because this thing came out two years before the GBP.
