burns like fire

Numbers & knitting & reading nerd. I left Ravelry but am still LSG/COFUS. I whine a lot about chronic jaw pain due to bruxism. 💖💛💙 she/her All opinions are my own & do not reflect the opinions/views of my employer.
I am doing things while stalling on doing other things. Why are you like this, brain???
Latest creative obsession: nail stamping. As in, nail polish on a metal plate, transferred to a silicone thingamajig, and then transferred onto my fingernail. I’m still mastering the techniques but it’s so satisfying to successfully get a black cat onto my fingernail!
Walked in nature and saw no wildlife whatsoever due to four family members who can’t control their talking or volume. Bought locally-dyed yarn at a LYS & am already scoping out patterns for it. Toured a historical bathhouse & watched the water naturally steam at 130-140°F. Walked over 9k steps.
After a draining week of being “on” way too much, I’ve enjoyed a cozy slow wakening in my super comfy bed. Now it’s time to get up and attack the day.
I put my phone on my Vacation focus since I was off work today to take A for a medical procedure, and I’ve been so pleased all day with the amazing Artemis logo that’s my vacation background.
This screenshot from Threads has been haunting me since I saw it. I have never minded my smile lines or crows’ feet. I love how my silver hairs shine against my dark brown hair. …but what about shaving/body hair? What about my skin care - “anti-aging” vs “protection from sun damage”?
My candle (crumb couture from Snif) on one of our front fence posts in memory and honor of ICE’s many victims
I’m eastern time so have about 25 minutes before this. Wanted to share this neighborhood vigil request passed on from my local 50501 group.
I ordered the yarn for temps 80°F and below. Still waiting to see if Cosmopolitan comes back in stock. Days 1 & 2 crocheted!! #TemperatureBlanket #CraftSky #Crochet #TemperatureBlanket2026
Day 10 is another mini polish! Color name is Wreath Havoc Taco. This is a glitter polish, and it is deep rich colors. The primary color is a deep blue-green with electric flashes of bright green, magenta, and gold.
Day 15! This Pinot Grigio was off - it smelled like wet dirty socks and tasted fishy. Gross. Poured at least half down the drain. Grand Sud Pinot Grigio, 2024. I’m holding the mini bottle next to a wineglass filled about 1/3 full.
Day 14! A rosé, which I don’t normally drink. This one was drier than I anticipated, and it didn’t make me flush. The label says Rosé in a fancy script; the bottom of the label says orée des roses
Day 13! Cavalys Cabernet Sauvignon from VDNM vineyards. I’m holding the empty mini bottle next to my empty glass. Tasty but not memorable.
Wrap It Real Good from Ambah O’Brien! Knit in the Seven Sins fingering weight from @lolabeanyarnco.com Pinned out and drying.
Day 9, opened this morning! I’ll be opening daily from now until Tuesday (travel day). This is a gorgeous metallic pale pink polish with grey and bronze shimmering in it. I may use this tomorrow when I redo my nails. It will be great in case of chips while we travel.
Day 8, another late submission! It’s Holo Taco branded hand cream, peppermint scented.
Day 7, posting late! Long skinny box, must be some kind of tool! Yep, it’s a very nice brush for cleaning up edges.
Day 6! Thin flat envelope; what could it be??? Oh look, nail art stickers!
Day 5! Posting late, don’t know how I missed posting! A mini bottle of flakey icy blue polish named In a Flurry.
Day 12! Undivided Pinot Noir. This one was tasty but made me flush a little bit. I won’t seek it out but would not avoid it either. Fancy label!
Day 11! Magic Box Chardonnay. This one was good, and it didn’t set my face on fire. Would drink again.
Day 10! This is a tasty wine - I’m a fan of blends; they typically don’t make me flush, and I feel like the flavors can be so rich and complex. Unfortunately, I am starting to feel some flushing in my face, so this one might disqualify itself.
Day 4! Opened this morning and have resisted changing my polish to this divine sparkle 🤩 the polish name is Call Me Vixen, and hell yeah this is very vixeny - a deep red with red glitter throughout. PERFECT for so many occasions.
Day 3, posting late! A lovely gold sparkle topper coat named Gold Scattered Holo Taco. I brushed it over the sparkly teal essie polish I’m currently wearing and didn’t notice much, but when I was knitting with my bright craft light on my hands, holy shit the sparkle. Gorgeous!!
Day 9, posting as I drink! This Sauvignon Blanc is definitely making me flush. Too bad since it has a good flavor and smell, but my face is too painful to buy this one. Womp womp!
