Cathy Browne 2.0 🇨🇦
@mscathybrowne
Proud Canadian senior. Award-winning CBC journalist, blind photographer, foodie, curling fan and disability advocate. Hugger. My previous account was hacked. So here I am again, hoping for the best. If you remember me, give me a follow.
For foodies with long memories. These photos of the irreplaceable Graham Kerr came up in my memories. 15 years ago. Hard to believe. Time goes so fast.
This is 72, my friends. My mind is struggling to accept, but the old bod constantly reminds me 😊
"I am an old woman, named after my mother." John Prine's Angel from Montgomery rings truer every year. Today, I'm remembering my mother, the first Catherine, with whom I shared a birthday for 63 of my years on earth. I was her 21st birthday present on March 7 ❤️ I miss saying Happy Birthday to her.
15 years ago I became a widow. And it still feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago. Rest easy Dave ❤️
10 per cent vision from birth, but I cherish my ability to capture my world.
Saw this posted today and it spoke loudly to me. Taking this into the New Year.
When you find out one of your most beloved colleagues and overall favourite journalists is in the building, you get a photo 🥌❤️ You brought so much joy to my day, @devinheroux.bsky.social. Thrilled to finally meet you!
In 1989, Marc Lépine killed 14 female engineering students at Montreal's École Polytechnique. Canada established December 6 as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, urging action against gender-based violence. It surrounds us still. Never forget.
This is devastating news that will take a long time to process. A few names come to mind as giants we've lost in the disability community - Judy Heumann, Jim Derksen, Ing Wong-Ward - and so many more. Alice is now among them. "Don't let the bastards grind you down." Will do. Thank you Alice.
Can't wait to attend the @jackwebsterfdn.bsky.social Webster Awards later today. I was honoured with two awards last year, including the coveted Bill Good Awad. It was an unforgettable experience and I'm so glad to celebrate our brilliant BC journalists. If you're there, come say Hi. Table 45.
MY NERVES! OUR NERVES!! Please remain on hold for at least three hours… #BlueJays
