Oisín at Halloween, last fall, with the scorned (and now discarded) "toy" guitar. And it turns out no one makes kid-sized racks. We've been looking for a guitar teacher (my son et al. live in Brampton, Ontario) but can't find anyone who'll take a 4½-year-old. Not yet, anyway!
It's not Maggie's Farm, which he can sing with great gusto, but the first "it's electric!" whack at the strings

I found a small guitar online and a friend sent the harmonica. No kid-sized racks, though, but he figured out pretty quickly how to push it up and note. Note the microphone on the table!
Oisín was ready for Samhain tonight with "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Maggie's Farm" (if requested).

The newest generation ... he's memorized his favorite song (video sent as a 3rd-birthday present by mom's friend) ... happy 84th, Bob ...
The last book (out of several hundred) I read aloud to my son/daughter was "The Life of Pi." They were 16 and almost 18. My son/daughter-in-law started reading to my grandson when he was 6 weeks old, 5 to 10 books a day now and counting ... but maybe not that one yet...
