A beautiful, serene dark blue high mountain lake surrounded with pine trees now has the quivering joy of the beginning of Dog-Stick-Lake-Swim season! Yes, Ellie the Dog is on her annual spring tour of Eastern Sierras high mountain lakes as their roads are cleared, gates open, here comes Ellie to get that stick. Fishmas is for fisherfolk, this is Stickmas at Rock Creek Lake up at 9,000 ft. There was still snow on the north facing lake side. So exciting!

Travis the border collie lab mix is mostly an all black medium to large dog with white paws and a white muzzle. He is currently lying in his favorite spot next to the bamboo where he can spy any human, car, ground squirrel, pr heaven forfend, another dog pass by on the road.
