I just bought this portable DVD player after the convo on here last night 😊 Charging it up now. £89 from Argos. It's small, but will do me until we get around to buying a new telly with a DVD drive (which will be this year).
P.S. Duncan, don't worry. I (and Google minus AI) answered my own question re: did your dad meet Hockney. He did. 😊
Reading this after decades and it's every bit as good as I remember it. I must read her book "Minor Characters" again too, which deals not just with her relationship with Jack Kerouac but also focuses on the women around that circle of Beat men (Ginsberg, Burroughs, et al)
Oh, how weird! I accessed it via the web (PC not phone) but that shouldn't make any difference, I think. I'm in the U.K. but can't imagine that territory should affect anything either? This is what I'm getting:
Easier for me and Mr Shed as we met at a gig (introduced by mutual friend). It was during the punk years so was music-filled but I can't remember what was in the official charts. But I do know that Bowie's Heroes charted that year. Bowie is my calendar! 😁 This is where/when Mr Shed and I met 🙂
Display an album that was important to you when you were nineteen.
If you see this, quote with a robot that isn’t from “Star Wars”, “Star Trek”, “Dr. Who”, or “Transformers.”
So dank & grey here for so many months of the year now that I want to get this print of a Warhol 1958 work for our living room. If the sun won't shine outside I'll bring the sun inside. Warhol in general anyway makes me happy 😊 Showed it to Mr Shed and asked if he liked it and he said "Instantly!"
2/2 Harry Fairchild is the star of Shrigley's t-shirt design and is the Euro Downs Syndrome Table Tennis Champion (won in Prague, last summer). We're in the Brighton suburbs and Mr Shed proudly wears Harry's t-shirt every match he gets. Harry is also a qualified table tennis coach. A local star!
P.S. His rented Beckenham home, Haddon Hall, Southend Road, was sadly demolished in the 1980s. It was a bit of a pilgrimage for Ziggy fans back in the day
2/2 ... Well, it took another 5 years under care of Endocrinology to ever be right again. So I was coming up to 69 when I opted for radioiodine to make the whole thing go away. This page from my own "medical" diary is the reality of leaving it all so close to the wire. Age/life stress made me ill
What actor's facial expression will stay with you for the rest of your life.
My next read, written by Wilde's grandson. A present from Mr Shed, who knows how much I love a bit of Oscar (Bluesky, like X failed before it, needs a green carnation emoji)
We stopped off at Falmer Pond and took this pic from the pond bank. The tiny bit of water in the middle is all that's left. Poignant to see the "No Fishing" sign as there certainly will be no fishing. All the fish will be dead ☹️
Almost finished filling up the narrow bookshelves we had delivered today. As this is in a corner of the living room I'm leaving all the tatty old - and foxed - books (and pamphlets, god I hate those, but Mr Shed loves them) in the other rooms. Having this bit of furniture helps a lot tho' 1/2
Does she need to take them at separate times of the day? Mine come as one tablet (Teva brand is what I'm usually given by the local pharmacy) once daily. If your cat is on 75mcg once a day I'd have thought one tablet would be easier than two!
