The Regime will crucify MAJ Watson using the UCMJ rather than civil law, because it explicitly forbids what he did. He'll lose everything he's worked for throughout his career, including his freedom, and as a field-grade officer, he knew it going in. Clearly he believes that it's warranted.

Memorial Day weekend is often a heavy one for those that have served, because we remember those we served with that haven't made it. If you have the opportunity, listen to someone's memories this weekend. As the great poet says, we "are changed, changed utterly / a terrible beauty is born."

After seeing it in print, I've had the somewhat bonkers idea that Asst. DHS Secretary McLaughlin's name would be *exactly* the kind of pseudonym and false identity that Harley Quinn would use (while pronouncing it Tricki McLaffin). Her official photograph hasn't disabused me of that notion.
