It's been a while since I've played one of those games that's uniquely broken in a way that's horrible but still extremely funny, but today was that day. Thanks for tuning in everyone.
It's Saturday and time for Belt Scroller Academy - Continuing to slowly work my way through this backlog of Steam games - twitch.tv/murphagator
A true Judo Master doesn't even need to grab their opponent in order to grab their opponent.
Never change, KoF. I love when an interaction like this happens and both players are so shocked that the next couple seconds are just nothing.
I really like when fighting game characters have moves that can just swat down huge fireballs with no real fanfare to them. Daimon is truly the strongest.
Our builds were quite strong but by no means outlandish. Shoutouts to the last pick phoenix charm which did not get even close to used.
Also posting the Rabbit and Steel Lunar clear that @quettatonia.neocities.org and I have been working on for a bit. Unfortunately my hard drive ran out of recording space midway through, but so it goes.
Gunstar Heroes Expert Co-op completed! Even fully deathless rather than no continues! Only one minor instance of unexpectedly falling through the floor! Thanks everyone who joined and @ashathecrocodile.bsky.social for putting up with how games 'work' for me.
Gameboy Battletoads in Ragnarok's World is a very funny port of Battletoads which works normally.
Sorry about my friends' poor manners; I'm sure they'll be more than happy to pick up the tab for everything now. This drink included, of course. Work of skeb.jp/@fujiko_fujita
Little did I know that I'd have the chance to convert this into a 3 command grab combo this same day
I think the most concise way I can explain how unsatisfying the game feels at all times is the way enemies respond to special moves. You have a bunch of big flashy moves you can unlock which do LESS damage than the simpler moves you've had since the start, and enemies respond to them like THIS.
I meant to get an early lunch so that I could start stream still in the morning but I also for some reason decided now was the time to learn the really stupid and unnecessary Iori regrab combo route, so I'll be live in like an hour.
Had family obligations this morning so I think Ill do an early lunch and a long late belt scroller academy stream. It might finally be time to deal with the problem child thats been sitting in the list since the beginning.
One problem I have when learning games is sometimes find stuff like this and spend a half hour figuring out how to optimally set it up instead of anything useful to winning the fight. I did actually think this could be something that led to an easy fight, but his pattern changes a bit under 4000
The real magic didn't happen until towards the end of the stream, though.
Now after all the stuff that happened last time, you might think today's playthroughs would surely be more normal. To that I say, lol. just, lmao.
It's funny which fights are easy in single player become hard in co-op and which hard fights become laughable.
Gunstar Heroes is still extremely funny, and co-op changes a ton of stuff in interesting ways. Thanks @ashathecrocodile.bsky.social for joining and sorry you had to learn the hard way what kinds of stuff happens when I play games with people.
Melee only taught me some really nice ideas for how to handle some fights on expert and I'm very happy about that.
Battletoads Genesis beaten. Funny game where things that make sense often happen.
Video games are the best, especially when playing with buddies like @thesupersnes.bsky.social
Were todays Steam games good? No. Did I enjoy them anyways? Yes. Did I play them in normal ways? Well....
