The Civil Nuclear Deal (There will be no enrichment of material!) being made between the United States Department of Energy and Saudi Arabia, which pertains only to non-military use such as the ones that Iran and UAE (and others) already have, will be approved, but is totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the very respected and successful Abraham Accords. Passport Revocations Due to Significant Child Support Debt

Under President Trump, the Department of State is using commonsense tools to support American families and strengthen compliance with U.S. laws. This includes preventing those who owe substantial amounts of court-ordered child support from neglecting their legal and moral obligations to their children.

U.S. law requires Americans to comply with child support obligations in order to receive a U.S. passport and allows the Department of State to revoke the passport of an individual who owes more than $2,500 in child support. Under the Trump Administration, the Department of State is coordinating with the Department of Health and Human Services on an unprecedented scale to revoke the passports of Americans who have racked up significant outstanding child support debt. This action supports the welfare of American children by exacting real consequences for child support delinquency under existing federal law.

Any American with significant child support debt should arrange payment to the relevant state or states now to prevent passport revocation. Once a passport is revoked, it may no longer be used for travel. Eligibility for a new passport will only be restored after child support debt is paid to the relevant state child support enforcement agency and the individual is no longer delinquent according to HHS records.

The State Department is putting American families first through our passport process.

Announcing the Closure of the U.S. Consulate General in Peshawar

The U.S. Department of State is announcing the phased closure of the U.S. Consulate General in Peshawar. Responsibility for diplomatic engagement with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will transfer to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad. This decision reflects our commitment to the safety of our diplomatic personnel and efficient resource management.

While our physical presence in Peshawar is changing, the Administration’s policy priorities in Pakistan remain steadfast. We will continue to engage meaningfully with the people and officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to foster economic ties, promote regional security, and advance the interests of the American people.

The Department, through the U.S. Mission to Pakistan, remains dedicated to advancing the U.S.-Pakistan relationship through our remaining diplomatic posts in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.

This from Rubio today is important. It suggests that the ongoing negotiations with Iran are “talks about talks.” In other words, setting parameters for future discussions. It’s nowhere near a comprehensive peace deal.

MARCO RUBIO: So that’s the process we’re engaged in now to create – that’s the object of this diplomacy is to come up with some level of understanding about what are the topics that they’ve agreed to negotiate on. We don’t have to have the actual agreement written out in one day. This is highly complex and highly technical. But we have to have a diplomatic solution that is very clear about the topics that they are willing to negotiate on and the extent and the concessions they are willing to make at the front end in order to make those talks worthwhile.

That’s what Steve and Jared and the whole team is working on, and I hope to have good news on it. That’s the outcome we would prefer. That’s the outcome we would have preferred a year ago. That’s the outcome I think most of us would have preferred a along time ago. But that’s not the option they’ve given us given their activity.
