#SpoonieAuthChat When I was a young teen, I handwrote ~110 college ruled pages, front and back, of my first ever novel idea. My writing progress went (5th grade) first short story > (6th through 8th grade) poetry & (bad) fanfiction > (9th grade - current) novels.

He took a moment, gave a small huff towards a hopeful-looking Chastity, and said,

"I am declining to give a statement. Please see my lawyers for any inquiries regarding any criminal matters." He shoved the microphone out of his face and dodged the rest of the reporters that were gathered around the checkpoint from customs.

"Mr. Anatham is well known in the Blank and Veil as being a charitable and kind soul with many projects related to homelessness and imp rehabilitation, but these accusations may be a keel in his image. Back to you, Robin."

"Thanks, Chastity. Back to the weather." Elise muted the TV and sank back into the love seat.

Advice wanted & story time! I mentioned a long while ago about The Coffee Incident but the circumstances of it are still weighing on me. If you feel like giving advice, I’ve attached an image of the story. I really want to know if my goal is worth it. I’m worried it’s not! TW: Self-harm mention

So to start with, this drama is over 5 months old but I'm needing help with how to salvage a relationship that the drama is affecting.

So, I made this friend over a friend making app. Think Boo! Or Bumble BFF. They ended up moving out of state but added me to a big group chat with friends they were making in their new place and friends that are still in their old place (where I am).

The drama comes in with what I call The Coffee Incident. In November 2025, I was working one full time job (40hrs/week), one part time job tutoring at a college (15hrs/week), and was in grad school (I'm not calculating that shit. It was just A LOT). I was depressed, anxious, lonely, and overstimulated as a disabled neurodivergent person pushing myself so hard.

But I had just been added to this group chat and not participating and I thought, hey, why don't I put myself out there? Make some new friends and all that! I had some free time that night at the tutoring gig and I wrote up a message about how to get into coffee (I'm a soda fiend but nature for my caffeine consumption and I really want to switch to something with less sugar). So I asked the group chat how they got into coffee and how would they recommend I start? I mention I'm not a fan of bitter things so sweeter coffees to start would be ideal!

Y'all, I got torn to pieces. I got called a little bitch for not liking gas station coffee. I got told I should just drink Folgers since I obviously don't have any taste. I was told that I might as well be a toddler and they kept calling me she/her and "girl" despite me stating my pronouns as they/them when I joined and reiterated that I am trans. So all around bad time. I had a mental breakdown that night from the stress of everything and nearly had to check myself into inpatient mental health treatment because I was legit worried I was going to hurt myself. Thankfully I didn't and managed to scrape by but it was dicey overnight.

As William sat in the study lounge between his two classes of the day, he found himself researching more about the demon Arthrax. He also totally didn't have to look up Arthrax's name from the generative AI ritual he printed out (yes he did). He was neither a major nor minor demon, more one that was relegated to the back channels of cults and primarily known for his human sacrificial rituals from those devoted to him. He seemed to have been around in notoriety since the 1970s, but William couldn't find much about him beyond that one book and a few conspiracy theory websites blaming the demon for a few sketchy murders. Which, as William now knew, was not totally out of the realm of possibility.

He also took some solace in the fact that the demon didn't seem to like crowds and without its totem being attached to William, or even made yet, there was no way for the demon to get ahold of him without outing itself. This gave him some reprieve to actually do some research and see how deep the hole he had dug for himself was. Or, would have had the information been available publicly and not behind pay walled books. Maybe the college library would have more options?

She had no idea where Mick was. If she had to guess, he was out scourging for cheaper Thyrium to mix with the drinks. Or possibly other supplies that were disrupted by the Veil weakening. She hoped that all of that was still running smooth or the crowd was going to be extra rowdy tonight. Giving a sigh, she pulled her phone out of her pocket to check her text messages and saw a few from Anna throwing shade at a customer flirting with her in front of her dad while collecting payment from said customer and one from Chester that simply said,

Have a good shift tonight.

It was sweet; she would admit that much. But it also made her uncomfortable. Should she reply? She poised her thumbs above the phone to do so but her gut froze her in place before she could type anything. Out of some sort of instinctual self-preservation, she let her body go through the motions of locking the phone and sticking it back in her pocket. Out of sight, out of mind. She needed something to do to keep her occupied and her brain off of this. She forced herself up and out of Mick's office and through the door to the main lobby and to the serving bar.

"I find a lot of beggars to be choosers. In fact, you were one of them when you called out to me, were you not?" The demon turned around from the metal shelf of decorations and looked at him expectantly. William pursed his lips in fear and anxiety before thinking on his feet and saying,

"Depends on your definition of beggar, I suppose. I was desperate, yes, but I did have options. Granted, I couldn't afford the other options but still, it was there."

"If you could not 'afford it', then was it really an available option?" The demon smirked, showing the tips of its pointy white teeth.

"Anything's an option if you're willing to pay the price. I would have found a way." Actively remembering the steps he went through to accomplish what he did was making his stomach upset. It was upsetting even more to remember how desperate he was to have someone killed. The premeditation aspect was starting to get to him.

"Determination is a virtue to some."

"Depends on who's asking." He followed up. The demon exhaled a half laugh and went back to examining the apartment. William gave a small groan and clutched his stomach. Maybe it was just the burger getting to him. Or so he hoped.

William just sighed at the nonsense. "I have no use for the corpse. Where do I put this back again?"
"You are not seriously going to put a pot that had a mouse in it back in my cupboard. Give it to me." William practically snatched the handed over pot from the demon and put it in the half full sink. "I'll take care of it after I get my coffee and breakfast. I need to do dishes, anyway."

"You must not have slept well." The demon
noted.

"No. I didn't." William confirmed with venom in his voice. "Nightmares despite my medication.
It's fine. I'll take a nap later and be better." He said the last part softly, recognizing he was being a bit of an asshole.

"Why should you change how you feel for the
comfort of others?"

"What do you mean?" William sighed as he took the coffee cup out from under the spout.

As someone who's never tasted alcohol even into my thirties, this fanfic piece was before I had come to the obvious realization that I could *GOOGLE* the effects of alcohol and doses. Crowley scoffed at his own thoughts and picked up the book and ran his finger along the bookmark he left in it to open it back up to chapter ten, where he left off. With his free hand, Crowley shut off the water once the tub was three-fourths of the way full and stepped into the bath and let the hot water burn its way up his legs and body as he settled into the bathtub. It was nice to be able to just sit and relax. It may have bothered his inner snake to be completely submerged in water but his corporeal form thanked him immensely for it and he started to feel the tension in his back loosen up ever so slightly. Letting himself lean into the back of the tub, Crowley settled in for a few hours of reading and peace.

Back in Soho, Aziraphale had stumbled back up into his apartment slightly buzzed as he called it. If he was honest with himself, he would have to admit that he was a little drunk as evidenced by the fact that he couldn't walk for an extended period without stumbling against the wall when he forgot to pick up one of his feet. In his defense, he did suck down nearly an entire bottle of high proof wine in under an hour and a half. He had thought about sobering himself up but after pouring his soul out to Crowley earlier and still managing to work afterwards, he felt like he had earned a right to be a little floaty for the evening.

After stumbling to his bed, Aziraphale sat down on the edge and let himself fall backwards onto the mattress, admiring the way the floaters moved behind his closed eyelids and the way the blood rushed in his ears as he sat in glorified silence. Even the streets outside were mostly quiet for once. Taking in a deep breath, Aziraphale let it go slowly as he let the tension fall out of his body.
