Today marks 35 years since the restoration of Ukrainian Independence. I took this photo at the Kyiv War Museum in June last year. My fifth and final story from that trip will be published in September.

Found this A.E.F. Displaced Persons record from 1946 of a potential distant relative in the Arolsen Archives. Desired Destination: "I wish to go to Lithuania if she will not be occupied by Bolsheviks, or to USA." Remarks: "I do not wish to live under dictatorial regime."
