Did a QOL update for my Udon & Watch world. Audio is improved with a new pipeline and shader-based resampler. Audio emulation is now ~perfect and available on non-PC platforms. General performance improved as well
was able to dump the original firmware by finding and exploiting vulnerabilities in the usb handling and in the vendor's isp bootloader(!) emulated, reversed the led matrix layout from the dump instead of manually tracing it, mame driver written, custom fw written
custom firmware on a cheap LED nametag badge thingie. 8051 based mcu, 32K flash. of course this is the natural result
There's now a second copy of my plm2 power line monitoring software running in the wild, this one at @dd86k.space's place. It's so cool to see the frequency wander around much more on his, since he's on the Quebec Interconnection and I'm on the Eastern Interconnection. me on left | dd on right
visualizer? trying to kinda track the ADSR envelope by sniffing opl3 register writes. definitely like the result better than doing simple protracker style bars that only pulse up at key-on
Further improvements to PCM x OPL3 experiments. Using four channels for better resolution, along with some dynamic DC offset to push high frequency content away from zero, since zero-crossings significantly increase the chip write rate. This has come quite a long way
WWV time code subcarrier decoder. probably the most pointless thing i have ever made for vrchat lol.
tesla coil ⚡ experiment with long exposure using video capture #VRChat #VRChatPhotography
fully playable early 80s LCD games emulated in #VRChat... i've been working on porting the mame drivers to udon
working on replacing this sign's controller with my own ESP32-based design. felt mandatory to test bad apple. 80x16, 5bpp grayscale, ~200hz scan rate
Ritual with @l4.pm, @ackwell.au, @arcdis.net, @dd86k.space, @lethaltail.com, @catgirlinstall.bsky.social, @williamisfunny.bsky.social, and a few others... #vrchat
More obsolete display technology for my #VRChat avatar. I made earrings inspired by Soviet-era IV-11 VFD tubes, displaying some text and the current time. Nixie tubes next?
