TIL of this book about the adventures of 3 boys, one Jewish, one Muslim, one Christian, in medieval Cordoba. A friend's 23-yr-old son visited Cordoba and its mosque based on fond childhood memories of this book. ❤️ Has anyone here found travel inspiration in a beloved book from childhood? #booksky

What do these 4 books have in common, you ask? I bought each one based purely on discussion/promotion on bluesky. Three quite recently, the Vernon Duke some months back. All excellent in their different ways, and, except for the Césaire, all by authors I hadn't heard of outside of bluesky
Was at the San Francisco Jazz Center today for concert celebrating Miles Davis's Birth of the Cool, by Marcus Shelby's New Orchestra and young SFJAZZ All-Stars Alumna Skylar Tang, including a commissioned arrangement by trumpeter Tang. So great to see little kids in attendance at this family matinee
