5 years ago, I finished the first one of these bangles in silver. I still love this thing. It's a mix of my very clearly mechanically engineered style with a dash of elegance. A thick chunk of sterling, but I think it was my 2nd bangle for the brand? Just after the award for the Scaffold Bangle.
My wife, 18 years ago today (she was... not my wife back then). Hanging out over lunch at the river.
Okay. I had only changed the 'adult content' to warn. When I change 'sexually suggestive' to warn, your PFP is visible but blurred. If I click on it, it's visible. But this is how it looks by default:
The very-rarely-seen Orion. She has only JUST come up the stairs for the first time in the last week or so. She is still nowhere NEAR as comfortable as the other little kids. But she's getting more comfortable in the space. Just going to take a lot of time for her rehab.
Lots of play with Little Tiger, Starlet, and J this morning (as always). I think I tired poor Little Tiger out a bit.
I find it incredibly disconcerting when she lies down like this. She just want me to fret, this girl.
Yet another expensive bottle of whiskey ruined because whiskey (and whisky) bottlers stupidly continue to use corks in their bottles. Wine bottles are stored on their side. The cork stays wet. Whisky bottles are stored standing up. The cork dries out and cracks, ruining the whisky. STOP IT!
So... I never used to like pearls. At all. But I think it's because I never really saw good ones. There are so MANY schlock pearls out there. But I saw this strand on a group recently, and this kind of thing is just spectacular. A mix of Akoya and Tahitians in a gradient.
Incidentally, back one year when I was working as a press photog for some local con, I was supposed to get some pics of Marc Singer, and I lost them because of a mem card issue. I went back the next day, and was ready to beg for a photo op, but he was THRILLED to have some more shots. SUPER nice guy
Here's a tray of sapphires. None of these are especially large (I think the largest in this tray is maybe 6mm maybe). But this is one of my fun diverse colour trays, so you can see all the pretty colours sapphires come in.
I dug up this old photo of mine from 2004 to use for today's socials post for the brand. We normally don't do a 4th post (we're more regular on Canada Day, but missed it this year because of Joe), but I really wanted an excuse to use semiquincentennial in a sentence, so I made one from this old pic.
This little girl is getting so much more comfortable with being nearby. She's the bravest of the 4 younger girls. I hesitate to call them 'little' girls anymore as they're outgrowing their aunts, so it's sometimes hard to tell them apart from a distance. She and Starlet (formerly JJ) are doing well.
@sallliss.bsky.social agreeing to a quick snapshot of the new earrings as she was wearing them to test feel/weight.
My baby girl 13 years ago. What strikes me most about this photo, besides how much I miss her, is that I have owned that table saw for at least 13 years and I've still never used it because table saws scare the hell out of me. 90% of all BAD accidents in a wood shop happen because of table saws.
Joe’s home and hiding in the closet. They ADORED him at the dentist’s. Absolutely loved him. And, of course, why not. He’s a giant ball of grumpy old kitty. But so snuggly
Few things make me as happy as knowing that Two Bands has made friends with the new group of kids. When his sister died, he still had his brothers, but it wasn't quite the same. They were thick as thieves, and he was often left out. Joe was always there for him, but Joe doesn't play.
