Mitzy and Teddy, our latest fosters, have moved to their forever home today. Two sweet, very well behaved, chatty cats. That is one lucky household! They are the 13th and 14th cats we've fostered.
We have found a home for our current fosters, Mitzy and Teddy! This was a very difficult case, but they are doing well, social, chatty, healthy, with opinions.
New @mikecarey.bsky.social book! I am going to savour this one, as a big hardback tome is not commutable, but that way it lasts longer!
I attended the NPG Marilyn exhibition and it was so easy to tell the hardcore fans from the casuals! Some of us were spending ages with the rare items, while others were taking photos of images that are readily available online and in lots of Marilyn books( I know coz I have the books)
Starting this long overdue re-read. It seems only right to do it with a copy that looks like a runaway teen forgot it at a creepy bus station. This book changed my perspective of writing and of the world. Possibly my first queer read...?
This is the door of Dracula's London Mansion in Piccadilly. As you can see, he is a landlord now🤪
Just finishing this book today. OMG, if you love vampires, you can't miss it! Angelina will haunt your dreams...
My latest find.Zola's first English edition, translated and published by Vizetelly &co 1885. Mr Vizetelly was jailed for indecency after not censoring Zola's The Earth enough, which killed the company. It still retains a lot of gold.
A gift from the Universe today.I went to Hatchards to buy this book and I discovered I was on time to attend a panel with the author, plus fashion writer Terry Newman and Michael Arnold, grandson of Eve and custodian of her estate. 3 Marilyn experts! And I knew nothing of the event! So,so lucky!
This stocktake has been prompted by my visit to the Schiaparelli exhibition. OMG those bottles
I went to Schiaparelli today. I do not care what I put on my body, but I love the art of fashion so much!
I've a new yokai book, and I wonder if this is the inspiration for the Mum in The Grudge(forever in my nightmares)
Here you see what's left of the massive Pantechnikon in Belgravia that I read about in Thackeray's Vanity Fair. Only the facade, the rest of the block is newer. Now it's full of trendy cafes and restaurants
I think JELLYCAT might have peaked on the " anything can be a softy" front. This is a soft toy peeble
A building near Bow st. I can't read the writing and I really want to know! Isn't it beautiful?
Today, I start reading two very different books. Jose Saramago's Memorial del convento y Kikuko Tsumura's There is no such thing as an easy job. I've read a few short books and short story collections in a row, it's time for something longer!
Ermita del Trampal, Cáceres. El mapa en relieve para que los visitantes con dificultad visual puedan ver cada zona del templo. La clave en la esquina inferior izquierda. Nunca había visto uno de estos
