I also starting priming some of the wallets.

six minimalist wallets each on the end on a shim hanging off the edge of a table to dry. the left 3 have d20s carved in, the left 3 have a tree of life/ Yggdrasil design carved in. the are all made out of gray eva foam.

I should have all of the pride coasters painted today. I just have to do one more coat of varnish on the lesbian flag ones and paint the rainbow flag set. the disability flag set is already finished.

revisted an old unfinished project today.

a clear plastic globe with a snake made out of foam clay wrapped around it. next to that are the electronics from a pair a bluetooth headphone.

spent the morning cutting out foam for wallets. I've got enough for 9 minimalist wallets and 4 pocket notebook wallets. I may assemble them today, but have to take a break because my back is starting to hurt.

I am pretty happy with how my pocket notebook wallet turned out. I'll be making some of these for the shop too.

I painted these as well but I'm not happy with how they turned out. my paint is old and was pretty thick so I didn't get smooth coverage. I tried watering it down, but that didn't help that much.

I decided to do a coaster that only one side is painted with a design, and the back is bare foam. After letting the varnish cure overnight, I'm going to use the coaster for a couple days and see how it works absorbing liquid.

Does anyone have a recs for where to buy padded mailers in bulk that isn't Amazon or Uline? Preferably compostable ones like these. I searched the shop name and this one looks like it's only available on amazon unfortunately.

I made a pocket notebook sized wallet out of 2mm eva foam this morning. it fits a field notes size notebook and has two card slots. I was going to put a loop for a pen in the center but realized it would block sliding a notebook in place.

I just opened up a new roll of sks eva foam and it does not look as high quality as the last roll I bought. the texture is seems closer to the cheap craft foam I was trying to avoid buying. I wonder if they changed how they make it or if I just got a dud roll...

I finished up both of the wallets. I want to put them through some use to test durability before making more to list in the shop though. the green one is mine. the brown one I'm going to give to my brother to use.

the new one is much better. this fits 10 cards without any issues. I started painting it today. then I'm going to have my brother use it for a week or so to see if it's durable enough. I don't leave the house enough to test it myself.

I've got both sets varnished. The bottle doesn't have a cure time on it, so I'm giving them until tomorrow before putting them to use.

well my first attempt at making a wallet didn't work. I measured a card and added 1/4" to each side thinking that would be enough room to glue the sides together, but apparently it was not.

I ordered some brush on varnish for the coasters but it won't be delivered until Sunday. So in the meantime I'm making a minimalist wallet to see how it holds up.

hand painting some coasters today.

four round eva foam coasters. they are painted dark green. all four have two gold rings painted around the perimeter. one has a celtic know painted in gold, the other three have screen lines for the knot, but are unpainted. they are on a wood table surrounded by painting supplies.

I scored the design into the foam with my cricut and am going to laminate it on a thicker piece of foam. I am going to try with both 6mm and 4mm, making the finished coasters 8mm and 6mm thick respectively.
