Three old, well-worn russian propaganda tricks are gaining ground these days. 1 Threats of nuclear war if we help Ukraine win; 2 The danger of alleged out-of-control chaos in russia following its defeat; 3 A ceasefire agreement. The last narrative is the most dangerous as some are pushing for it.

Words matter. There's no russian-Ukrainian war, but a russian war ag/ Kyiv. There's no russian retaliation for the strikes on their refineries, but a lawful Ukrainian response to russian mass crimes and aggression. The aim isn't to pressure Moscow to come to the negotiation table, but to defeat it.

We must repeat this tirelessly: either Ukraine wins—and with it, Europe—and russia loses, or the opposite happens. It's a zero-sum game. There's no middle ground in the harsh reality of the facts. Hence, logically, there can be no intermediary strategy. Time for Europe to speak and act accordingly.

Glad to see that some leaders—because Kyiv's winning—are now aligning themselves, albeit half-heartedly, with the narrative we’ve been promoting from the start: that of Ukraine’s victory. That's good. I hope they aren’t just jumping on the bandwagon of a victory they didn’t always support as such...

A theory voiced by one of my contacts tonight: All this talk of discussions with russia being pushed by certain European leaders is just a charade intended for the Americans. Those leaders aren’t that stupid: they know it would actually lead nowhere and there’s nothing to discuss. Hope he’s right.

The very idea that there could be talks, let's alone negotiations, with russia is a major strategic blunder. Not only is it a dead end, but it also puts Europe's security at risk.

I just came back from some days in Africa. Here’s what you find on the streets of Dakar. russia’s propaganda channel is running outdoor adverts. One of the slogans reads ‘the future belongs to you.’ Reality check: they’re using Africans as cannon fodder, when their militias aren’t murdering them.

They questioned Lavrov. Would they have interviewed Osama bin Laden, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, or Nasrallah? Fortunately not. Yet the russian regime, of which Lavrov is a part, has murdered even more civilians than those terrorist leaders combined. Let us never gloss over this fact.

It was a pleasure to speak with Lithuanian MFA Kestutis Budrys this morning. As always when talking with my Lithuanian counterparts, I am impressed by their strategic acumen, their clarity on principles and objectives, and their deep understanding of key security issues, notably on Ukraine.

His name was Hordiy Udovychenko. He was killed on the night of March 7, 2026, alongside his mother Olena. He was murdered by the russians for being Ukrainian, just as the Nazis assassinated Jewish children for being Jews. And because we, in the West, did not want to take action. Unbearable.

When you consider the forces that the US deployed (not necessarily used) to attack Iran, with a quarter of those assets, they could have striked russian forces in Ukraine in 2014, 2022, and still now. It would have put an end to the war (and sent a strong message to Tehran). Highly frustrating.

Large rally today in Paris in support of Ukraine. Thousands took to the streets. This commemoration should never have taken place: since 2022, the Allies should have defeated russia and spared more than a hundred thousand Ukrainian victims. No decisive action. A tragically bitter taste. #OurGuilt

While russia's all-out and genocidal war against Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, it should be remembered that the war actually began on February 20, 2014, with the invasion of Crimea, followed by that of Donbass. Western leaders looked the other way and did nothing to stop Moscow. Their guilt.

Some ask about the difference between the US lack of regulation of social media and the EU regulation. Notably in France, this would have been prosecuted for incitement to racial hatred—rightly so. Freedom of speech doesn't allow racism, anti-Semitism, or any other form of hatred and discrimination.

Are there still GOP representatives and senators who are sufficiently faithful to the principles of truth, rule of law, dignity and justice—or even just simply human—to condemn the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti? The future of US democracy depends on the answer to this question.
