I have seen SO MANY Carl cosplayers at GenCon. People white boxers with big red hearts must be making a killing.
Taylor Farms won’t say who got the possibly deadly product (thwarting recall efforts), while continuing to ship other contaminated products? FFS Bruce Taylor, the billionaire owner, ran crying to the White House + the FDA to “air concerns” re: the investigation and wants to “distance” himself.
Dinner tonight: Black Bean and Sweet Potato Salad This was made even easier by roasting the sweet potato pieces in the air fryer instead of heating up the oven. (390°F for 10 minutes) I only had huge red onions so subbed shallot. Yum. www.bytheforkful.com/high-protein...
I only get to see my Minnesota family once a year at our August get together. This year's looking a little spicy. Hoping for good fire containment between now and then!
Dinner Tonight: Gazpacho Yellow heirloom tomatoes in our most recent vegetable box and an 85°F/29°C day made Gazpacho an obvious choice. www.foodandwine.com/recipes/gazp...
Kate bought some matcha latte concentrate but ultimately didn't care for it, so I made a pitcher using the concentrate and almond milk so it wouldn't go to waste. Wouldn't you know it, now it's my new favorite summer iced beverage!
Dinner Tonight: Greek Salad with Gnocchi We're firmly out of Soup Season and into Salad Season. Pan frying shelf stable gnocchi turns them bouncy and almost fluffy and only takes a couple minutes of stove time. Yum! www.abc.net.au/news/2024-02...
It's Pramas's birthday so Dinner Tonight is a little fancy. I made Harissa Steak and Pearl Couscous with Almonds and Pickled Onions from The Salad Project by Clem Haxby. We enjoyed a gin fizz made with our precious Four Pillars gin from Australia. Pretty dang good all around.
Dinner Tonight: Huevos Rancheros Verde Pramas made these from an old recipe I got from EatingWell years ago. It's no longer on the web as far as I can tell. Delicious.
Dinner Tonight: Mushroom Paprikash Kate leaves crack of dawn tomorrow for a visit to her dad and little sister so I'm sending her off with a Mom-cooked dinner. www.eatingwell.com/recipe/78721...
Dinner Tonight: Smoked Trout and Avocado Salad Toasts I did a bunch of house chores this weekend so Pramas made these for supper. A couple cans of smoked trout from Fishwife, a perfectly ripe avocado, some Belgian endive, so good! food52.com/recipes/5392...
Taking my coffee on the patio while Selkie von Snoot gets in a sunbathe. Today's coffee aesthetic is Day 498 of WTAF
Madame von Snoot got a proper outside bed for sunbathing. I think she likes it!
"I started playing around with the ideas that would coalesce into Wardens of the Blue Rose because I was fascinated with the simple proposition of the game’s subtext: What if the type of good in a fantasy world actually matched the values we want to see? " greenronin.com/blog/2026/05...
Dinner Tonight: Braised Flageolet Beans with Fennel, Leeks & Herb Gremolata Instead of overnight I soaked the beans all day while I was working. Here's hoping they do their thing! The recipe calls for this specific bouquet garni, so I splurged for a few. www.markethallfoods.com/blogs/news/b...
I was really not prepared for how evergreen this Diesel Sweeties shirt was going to be when I bought it during the George W Bush administration.
