also, if you're a weeb like me I highly recommend playing it with the JP dub Both Revelations games have pretty great JP voice acting, good chemistry between characters and the voices fit perfectly, but that's only if you like it, I know not everyone prefers JP for RE, but it's a vibe
enjoy one of the most criminally overlooked and underappreciated RE games, and also seeing Barry arguably at his peak (and possibly for the last time ever with the jump forward in the timeline)

One of the highlight areas of my last playthrough of this game when I was doing my own little marathon in 2023 so many of Barry's areas are super tense, these apartments, the forest, the abandoned factory, the fake mansion at the end, they really wanted to bring back that horror aspect
really useful to keep logs of my thoughts on these games, comes very handy in situations like these lol

and if you look closely during this very quick cut walking right behind the police car you can see the silhouette of who the UBCS guys are running towards (and among the chaos you can even sort of make out a faint ''staaaaaaaars....'')
I actually wrote about that exact same thing pretty much above that last paragraph lol I encountered a massive softlock that happens if you happen to dump your weapons as Chris to give to Claire in this final section, when you switch back to Chris you straight up can do nothing Just baffling design
Capcom doesn't seem to really care too much quality-wise when they license their stuff for people to make adaptations of for TV or cinema, but when they're directly involved and it directly ties into their games, they *really* try (see that incredible RE2 commercial that is still just so perfect)
this was just the after-thoughts section, if I compiled all the thoughts I wrote about the game I could probably whip up an entire review, but that's 20+ years too late by now lol

oh yeah, and if you wanted to you can also poke Jill's butt (which is outrageously bigger and rounder than in the original)
arranged+original mode with all the content restored from the japanese PS1 version, quick turn, quick knife, skippable doors and cutscenes, all the outfits it even actually looks really impressive for a DS, so much detail hiding away behind the crunchy DS resolution when you see it at higher res
went back to where it all started for the 30th (actually I just really like playing these games over and over) I realized despite replaying REmake a bunch, I never actually did a *full* playthrough of the original surprisingly the DS version wasn't just competent but the better version of this game

despite consistently ranking as *the* worst character, she's super fun! I liked her so much I got her up to Plat along with Juri in 2024 she doesn't have a whole lot going on, but that's why I like her, there's only so much to do so she's not overwhelming and I always know which buttons I'm pressing
