i have a lot of cookbooks but consistently the fanny farmer cookbook from 1990 (thirteenth edition) is the most helpful, most versatile, and easiest to understand as a weak cook.

i read this ("like in love with you" by @eraofemma.bsky.social) on the plane yesterday and it was the perfect airplane book. sweet and soft, low tension but powerful moments, with a tenderness and warmth that left me breathless. reading this has made me finally understand why people love the genre.
