tried using Firefox for a week, and y'all I give up this isn't worth it. I'm sorry LMAO in both cases i closed it, reopened it and the usage dropped down to around 1.5-1.8 GB of which Chromium is consistently under 900 MB with the same *FOUR* tabs open. And nothing else. Four of them. i'm out!!

a SINGLE instance of Firefox, of unknown origin as it didn't appear to be any of the tabs, using 8% of the whole CPU, and 2.6 GB of RAM all by itself. Total usage was at 3.8 GB. Browser was incredibly slow.

Firefox using **4.4 GIGABYTES of RAM!!** In both instances, there were 4 tabs open, with no media playing in any of them!

I've been losing my shit y'all. for the life of me I can't even alt text this it'll just be screaming. "use li-" it's not the problem. trust me. every time i rearrange cables and ports the problem changes completely. Disk 3 is an HDD. Pic 4 is related to the SSD. the locks change with every reboot.

Anyway completely unrelated, but shoutout to this feature becoming commonplace because it saved my ass today. Had to digitally sign an important document, and it involved me taking photos of my documents. But opening the website on my phone, it insisted on using my ultrawide which was illegible.

Windows Phone Link's "Virtual Camera" feature, a feature to use your Android phone as a near lag-free webcam on your PC. Similar to Apple's Continuity Camera feature on macOS and iOS.

Over 14 hours after I reply to them... A *different* bot completely ignores what I said and just goes "No refunds <3" again. Remind me not to buy anything from Steam ever again unless I'm 200% sure I'm going to play it. Steam has some of the worst support I've dealt with, full stop.

So apparently they haven't changed the store page's Early Access blurb, lol It's basically entirely lies at this point, with special attention to this little bit right here.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We're aiming to have the full 1.0 release ready within less than one year from the start of Early Access. We believe this timeframe strikes the right balance between gathering crucial community feedback and delivering a polished, complete experience. Of course, game development is a dynamic process, and we'll keep you informed every step of the way if any adjustments to the timeline become necessary.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The full version of Assetto Corsa EVO is planned to be a significantly richer and more polished experience than the Early Access version.

We envision expanding the game in several key areas, including the addition of a large open world map area scanned from real world data references that will allow players to explore, hire and purchase cars, buy new parts and personalise their vehicle. In addition there will be a varity of different gameplay features based within the open world map.

And for the curious, I haven't just been saying "I don't want this game anymore". At most they're pulling an "I'm not reading all that." I've made a second reply as well, more out of frustration than anything. But maybe it leads somewhere, who knows.

I'd like to request a refund on this product, after repeated attempts to get Steam Support to look at the problem and receiving nothing but automated responses with automatic denials, completely ignoring the main issue at hand with the product. As stated before, the game's initial sales pitch promised an expansive career mode. Featuring an open world, race events, an in-game economy, car purchases of race and road models alike, and as stated on their official game Discord (https://www.reddit.com/r/assettocorsaevo/comments/1qvjql7/an_update_on_the_future_of_assetto_corsa_evo/), will now be an entirely multiplayer focused product, with no career mode whatsoever other than basic "rules of racing" content, similar to their last game, Assetto Corsa Competizione. This does not match their initial pitch, the reason the majority of the players bought the game in the first place. I understand I bought the game more than 14 days ago, and have more than 2 hours of playtime. The game has poor performance, terrible controller setup, and despite almost none of my playtime being actually playing the game, I exceed the normal requirements. But this does not change the fact that the game I was promised, and have purchased, is not the game I am being told will be delivered now. This is simply not how you market a product to your userbase.

Included is a picture from the roadmap taken from the Internet Archive, from March of 2025, promising many of the features they have now since removed from the title's plans, despite being the basis of many player's purchases. They have also since erased all mention of said planned career mode.

The hard abidance to the refund policy is sincerely of no help when they have falsely advertised the game for months on end and have now deceived hundreds, perhaps even thousands of players. I understand that policies exist, but regardless of the game being an "Early Access" title, it should be no excuse, considering the game is already over half a year behind schedule and most of its promised features, many of which were people's driving motives to purchase the title, have been silently removed.

This behaviour is frankly unacceptable from both the publisher and developer, 505 and Kunos, and frankly, the amount of unhelpful, automated replies from Steam Support has been of no use.

Update? Update. I post another support ticket. This time, under "I have a question about this purchase", which is known to have an actual human respond. 12 HOURS LATER. What's almost certainly an automated reply spewing the same junk. I don't understand the love for Steam Support. This is awful.

If nothing else, I at least hope my, along with other people's reviews, can steer people away from believing whatever they want to tell you. I can't believe I had hope for this title.

This game is not worth your money. Kunos promised a product they are now no longer delivering. They cancelled all plans for their career mode via a *Discord announcement.* Instead, they want to focus on making Assetto Corsa EVO yet another generic online-focused sim-racer, but with road cars, which sim racers don't even like to drive in favour of GT3s and Prototypes anyway.

Steam support is refusing to refund the game for anyone that bought the game in its original launch, or that spent more than 2 hours wrangling with this title to even ATTEMPT to have a good experience, as the game doesn't provide one without more than 2 hours of tinkering just for a decent framerate, much less decent controller support, which they lie to you that they provide.

Do not buy it. I regret doing so, and you likely will too. A year's worth of waiting for nothing. Kunos does not deserve your money.

Cool. Not me looking up "How to enable desktop mode in Android 16" and this website just confidently, chest out, tells me that after I do the thing (which is correct), I have to plug my phone... into my PC. And not a DP-capable display or dock. (which is, extremely incorrect.)

GT3 pet peeves continued: Why. Can't. I. Restart. Outside of license tests. I think people forget how many little UX improvements GT4 actually has over GT3. Sure, GT3 has ✨aesthetic✨ but holy fuck the menu-ing is obscene. At least GT1 and GT2 had the excuse that their menus were quick.
