In a performance hall there is a single folding seat isolated by itself at the end of a row, bare concrete floor surrounding it. Sure, there's a little blue sticker indicating it's a companion seat for a wheelchair user. But it could also serve as perfect seating for an introvert. It's unoccupied, maybe I could move...

This is the creature who usually sleeps on my lap when I'm in my recliner. Since the cat stole her lap she's resting her chin on the arm so that I can reach over and apologize.

Brown lab mix with almost completely gray face on sofa, smooshed against one arm so you can't see all of her, but she's 55 or 60 lbs. Chin is resting on the arm of a neighboring piece of furniture, which appears to be partially covered by the same red throw from the original post. Lonely dog toy in the background on the opposite side of the sofa.

Only the second time in 4.5 years he has curled up on my lap! He likes to get on the back of the recliner and often sleeps next to me, and if I have food he will climb all over me attempting to steal it-- but not usually a lap cat. Must be cold.

Said goodbye to my Tula this morning. She would have turned 19 next month. She loved to snuggle, but heaven help anyone who tried to hold her! She would scream when unhappy, but also when happy--she only had one volume setting. She stubbornly kept going much longer than I thought she could.
