A good day for #BandcampFriday! Picked up a couple more Leaf Library releases, the great new EP from Attic Ocean and really looking forward to discovering new shoegaze artists in the charity comp for Mind. Bought 2 Jim Ghedi CDs earlier in the week before I realised it was Bandcamp Friday too 🤦♂️
Only just seen the Mercury shortlist and this is the only winner for me. Dove Ellis - Blizzard
Six weeks with no records. Amp has been fixed and returned so broke my drought with this beauty. White Flowers - Dreams For Somebody Else (2026) Sad dance music for goths. #NowPlaying
June listening. It's WU LYF heavy because of the gig at Albert Hall. New-to-me though: Thee Marloes very silky soul Stars of the Lid, classic album from a band I've never heard of. Enjoying the Peter Gabriel-sounding indie folk from irish due Basciville. Cleo Sol and Richard Hawley always
Why does Eddie Marsan have sex to a song about Jim Crow era lynchings.
I wonder if George and Andrew could've predicted the age of streaming they still would've put Wham Rap and Different Corner back to back cos that's a crazy transition.
A real life ticket for a modern gig! One for the scrap book when he's massive. #ticketstubwed
WU LYF, Albert Hall, Manchester. Never thought I'd hear these songs played in my life. Wow. Two albums 15 years apart, both classics.
Wish more bands would talk about this. Widowspeak are 16 years and 7 studio albums into their career and still work day jobs. There's a lot of money in the music industry but not enough for musicians apparently.
Some artists just seem like they've landed from a different planet. Jessica Pratt - Quiet Signs (2019) #nowplaying
Tickets sorted for WU LYF in Manchester, 13th June. 15 years to the day of the debut release. Playing both albums in full 🫠
Secret track! Haven't had that buzz of leaving a CD playing by accident and the secret track popping up in years. Felt like a teenager again! Go on the WU LYF ✊🏼
May listening. Carried on my Leaf Library rabbit hole, saw Dove Ellis and been enjoying the new AZ Record. Spent a lot of time trying to find modern authentic blues records - Cedric Burnside, Jontavious Willis and Buffalo Nichols are top recommendations for anyone looking too.
9 years in the navy, 3 years in the factories, releases his debut album aged 32 and 18 months later he's putting this out 🫠 Then, sick of record companies, retires aged 47 and spends the next 35 years making music he enjoys without releasing anything. Bill Withers, what a fella. #nowplaying
Shoegazer World Cup shirts 🤤 These look bloody lovely. soniccathedral.bandcamp.com @soniccathedral.bsky.social
Spend a lot of today listening to some of the best live music recorded.
Dove Ellis, Band on the Wall. Cannot describe how good this guy is. Generational talent.
Been a slave to FB Marketplace the last few weeks buying hifi separates for proper (budget) system. Told my own man and he sent me this with "what do you want?". Frame it.
