Today's baseball song is "Dream Park - Yakyuujyou He Yukou" or "Let's go to the baseball field" by Yuudai Suzuki & Dreampark Kids Project. The video was made by NPB in 2024 and celebrates the 90th Anniversary of pro ball in Japan. Translated lyrics attached. #BaseballSongs youtu.be/kW-Dw80mWsE?...
Out at the Aberdeen Ironbirds game for the first time this year and the first time since they got demoted to the MLB Draft League. Nice night but there’s very few people here
Card Of The Week - Yugo Maeda is 7-0 and Shinnosuke Ogasawara beat his old team in his first post-MLB start japanesebaseballcards.blogspot.com/2026/07/card...
Saw Caroline Rose today at WTMD’s Live Lunch at the Ottobar in Baltimore. Her shirt made me think of @yellingslayer.bsky.social
Card Of The Week - a combined no-hitter in NPB and Shohei Ohtani hit his 300th MLB home run japanesebaseballcards.blogspot.com/2026/07/card...
I hadn't realized that was how he ended his career. That at bat is immortalized on his card in the 2006 BBM Nippon Series set
As always, you didn’t say which Giants. The Yomiuri Giants have retired numbers on pillars on the inner walls of Tokyo Dome. The 3 on the right field side for Masaichi Kaneda (next to the scoreboard), Shigeo Nagashima and Sadaharu Oh can kind of be seen on these cards if you look real close
Saw the 90 year old Alpert perform this in Baltimore a few months back
Bubba! One of my favorite players from my minor league collecting days. He won back-to-back Carolina League MVP awards which was a bad omen since it meant he spent two years in the league. He spent two years in Korea with the Samsung Lions but I’ve always been disappointed that he didn’t play in NPB
Both of the Laws have Japanese cards. Vern was a coach for the Seibu Lions in 1979 and Vance played for the Chunichi Dragons in 1990 (although I don’t think he had a card until 2014)
Post a logo, emblem, or title (with original font) that remains as perfect today as when it was new
Had a nice evening up in Bryn Mawr seeing @banzaibaberuth.bsky.social give a presentation on his latest book “In the Japanese Ballpark”. Got to meet @phungo2008.bsky.social in real life too!
