Today marks 13 years since I packed up my Pontiac with everything I owned, crossed that longass scaryass bridge in a storm, & moved to New Orleans. I thought I’d be here for 2-3 years, then go to grad school But I found community, a successful career w/o needing another degree/loans, & my husband 💙

Throwback to 8 years ago. He set up a camera “just to film us walking around,” typical bc he works in film. It took foreverrr to set up. Then he suddenly bent over to get something else out of his bag. I put my hands on my hips like “what are you doing 🤨” & whole time it was a surprise proposal 😭
