GreenLeft Network 🍉

🍉 The unapologetically leftist network of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand 🍉 Who we are: Join the movement: Authorised by Miriam Ross, greens.org.nz
Get yourself enrolled to vote and if you whakapapa Māori, join the Māori electoral roll BEFORE it closes on August 6 Because NZ First supporters will vote National and ACT supporters will vote And would you want their double-standard voices to be the only voice in Parliament next year? #nzpol
Cry us a river Luxon. National is out of touch - even to your business voters. #nzpol
No words can describe this image from Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga's Māngere Health & Care Election Forum www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3610... #nzpol #votegreen
National, ACT, and NZ First made voter suppression a law - prohibiting voter enrollments 13 days before AND on Election Day. Voter enrollments for this General Election close on October 25. Check your voter enrollments, as soon as possible: www.vote.nz #nzpol
okay maybe some xenophobia will stop the Greens - Winston Peters, maybe #nzpol
NZ First has no response to our common sense plan. So i guess the only move left is to call us a slur. #nzpol
“what have the Greens ever accomplished for us?” We told Christopher Luxon to shut up #nzpol
National, ACT, and NZ First has donor-funded media outlets ready to make YOU believe that the Greens don't care about working Kiwis. So @maramadavidson.bsky.social has this to say: www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361... #nzpol
tfw you try to read some good news and then National shoves their propaganda in NZ Herald’s article ads www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/... #nzpol
National, ACT, and NZ First pushes for austerity. The Greens however, will protect the class that actually runs Aotearoa - with sweat, blood, and driven mahi. Our new members' bill will make union membership the default choice for all new working kiwis. www.greens.org.nz/green_party_... #nzpol
Under Luxon's New Zealand, Working Kiwis STILL can't afford the basics. Who gets punished while Aotearoa's economy suffers? One class would receive fines and incarceration. The other would receive bail outs, tax cuts, and the justification to infringe on your privacy rights. #nzpol
The so called "Party for Business" who are STILL in control of Aotearoa's taxation system as government (and providing relief landlords and fossil fuel corporations, and not you) #nzpol #votegreen www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
ACT tries their best to make us look bad... but would everyday kiwis not want to tax billionaire "success" to get much needed relief? I guess this election year would decide that. #nzpol
So far the Atlas Network's NZ groups are loving our recently announced Tax Policy. To the point of making some weird claims (that they of course don't source or provide explanations to). #nzpol
"Aha! The Greens has a $800m mistake on their costings!" Greens: "yes you're right. Now we've corrected it and there's still no significant material changes to our policies" ".......okay" #nzpol
kinda funny how this is interrupting our front-page news Tax Policy announcement. Cause who were the political parties that screamed "coalition of chaos" when they see the Greens, Labour, and Te Pāti Māori being together. #nzpol
Aotearoa now holds 26 billionaires, which is 26 too many for Aotearoa to keep or sustain. Being a billionaire involves being ACTIVELY AGAINST working class interests, not only just ignoring them. Billionaires will bet (and donate) to have your work, living, and voting rights taken away. #nzpol
When there's nothing to hide anymore, then the damage has already begun. Luxon's government doesn't care about your voice in Aotearoa's democracy. Only the 'experts' of a neoliberal think-tank are important, including a former director who already is the Minister of Finance. #nzpol
… No??? At least 26.5% of households spend at least 30% of their income on rent. And that’s from the 2023 census. We can’t imagine how much more are households getting ripped off, following this govt’s landlord tax cuts. #nzpol
A reminder that this year is an election year. - Public service cuts are NOT inevitable. - Depriving the Public Sector to get "efficiencies" and "savings" is NOT inevitable. - Privatisation of our public resources is NOT inevitable. Register to Vote. Get your whānau to Vote. #nzpol
We're so back on track that we've reversed back to doing nothing for our tamariki #nzpol
Cost of living remains stupidly high; so National, ACT and NZ First responds by doing nothing. But migrants applying for citizenship and the BSA having "fascist" overreach are very important issues now. #nzpol
First-and-foremost, right now: Aotearoa's tax system is broken, Aotearoa relies too much on imported fossil fuels, Aotearoa doesn't guarantee jobs or income for anyone, AND Aotearoa's welfare state is focused on austerity. An elected Green Government will see the end to these injustices. (3/4)
Let's start with some status quo context: Full-Time students who rely on the Student Allowance, or have Living Costs covered by their Student Loan, DO NOT qualify for, and therefore can't get, either the Winter Energy Payment or the extra $50 In-Work tax credit. (1/4)
