The fifth Milestone Compendium is here and its quite an accomplishment given how many back catalogue reprints stall halfway through their respective reprint runs. This marks the reprint of Milestone Comics’ entire 1993 to 1997 output plus the 2001 Static Shock and 2010 Milestone Forever minis
Hell, yeah Thank you @decassette.bsky.social and @goshcomics.bsky.social
Finally saw Stonehenge, which was cool and learned some stuff I didn’t know including that one stone is supported with concrete after years of visitors chipping away souvenirs from the bottom like it was a high risk game of Jenga until there was a cavity big enough to fit 4 people
Highlight of the day was Avebury of course (sorry Stonehenge). What’s not to like about a stone circle large enough to contain a village, especially if you’ve seen 1970s children’s TV drama Children of the Stones…
Nottingham Puppet Festival today Only saw a few acts because of work but it was still fun, the heat showed a little mercy and everything seemed a big hit with kids
Tintwistle Moor, on the edge of the Peak District, has been on fire for over 24 hours now but let’s pretend Climate Change isn’t real 🔗 www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater...
Lud’s “Church” PROS: Always open, cool, damp and green all year round CONS: No disabled access
This one which I originally thought was Kate Beaton at one time but is actually by @nauciflocci (on Instagram) and floccinaucinihilipilificationa on Tumblr
Only one chick this year from the local peregrine nest but it’s certainly eating for four. Just ringed a few days ago and it’s a boy! I love this humongous lad… 🔗 www.nottinghamshirewildlife.org/peregrine-cam
Very interested in the decision making on the novelty popcorn buckets for the 40th screenings of Top Gun that included having one for Goose…
Bought the first Omnibus of John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake’s excellent The Spectre run from the 90s and they’ve added glow in the dark elements to the dust jacket as a throw back to the occasional covers the original series had and I wasn’t expecting it to look so dramatic under the camera!
Happy Birthday! 🎉 Here’s Wednesday enjoying a frozen lick-e treat
Bristol’s Jack-in-the-Green 🍃 is on feisty form today and while I’m not following him to his end in Horfield Common later, it’s been a privilege to see this celebration up close as it weaved through the city centre
