“Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent”. The great Isaac Asimov. Now, more than ever, we need kindness.
Praying Mantis,my favorite insect. We have hundreds all over the yard. I have never seen this many.
I planted two pumpkin seeds in a concrete block and they are going bonkers.
My all volunteer squad of Marigolds (plus Denver). The pot had some in it last year and they seeded themselves everywhere except for the pot. The one that’s in the pot was rescued from the driveway.
Better late than never…Pride Gourd. I haven’t painted any in a while, so not my best work, but my heart is in the right place. 😊
I can’t tell you how much I love this place. My father-in-law built it out of material from a torn down house that he bought for $1. It’s ours now 💕
“Deportee”, a poem Woody Guthrie wrote in the fifties, and later was set to music, sung beautifully by these two last night. James McMurtry and Betty Soo. Unfortunately, the lyrics still ring true today.
I present to you “Frankenquilt”! My first quilt and it was totally done with Dollar Tree yarn. I wouldn’t recommend zooming in, but it’s nice to do a project from start to finish.
We had just picked up our Standard Poodle from the rescue group and couldn’t think of a good name. This song came on the radio and it all came together. Our dog came from West Virginia and we both love John Denver, so we named him Denver.
I don’t know if this is whimsy or weird, but I just learned to crochet and made some coasters for my loveseat cup holders. I told my husband that ceiling fan covers are next.
My way of coping with this madness is making granny squares and listening to Star Talk with @neildegrassetyson.com . Just started crocheting a couple weeks ago.
Not Monarchs, but these are Milkweed Tiger Moth caterpillars. They love the Swamp Milkweed we planted.
This is again at the elementary school at the end of my street. There is a garden, woods, a track and we are usually the only ones there.
