The formation here, incidentally, is inspired by this image drawn from this very helpful article. The distances are heavily abstracted for scale, but the idea is there: a platoon of light infantry ahead of the company, followed by the line infantry companies. stracmark.blogspot.com/2015/01/fran...

It shows a skirmish line of three platoons of Prussian Jägers, with the rest of their companies 100 m behind. Two battalions of four companies each follow another 200 m behind, with a third battalion another 200 m behind them.

Another nice thing about 2 mm scale is that when you put a stand of twenty Prussian Jägers on a base *facing backwards* you can still just paint them the right way 'round and it's almost impossible to tell.

I'm especially proud of my 15 mm Quar. They are delightful little folk, especially en masse. I'm pleased with how colorful I made them, that I wasn't too scared to weather the vehicles, that I made some terrain for them, and that I've stuck with them enough to have nearly 80 painted individuals.

Introduce yourself with four mecha. Most of my #LEGO renders have multiple mecha, so I made a new scene from my playtest setup.

It's too hot, I have a headache, and I'm depressed, but I've been thinking again about how much I'd like a tabletop game with a vast sense of scale from ground troops to landships and low-orbit spaceships so I made this. Might add more someday. #LEGO

Took a few years, but I finally hit a thousand hours in Kingdom Two Crowns.

Another 2 mm Franco-Prussian War battle using Dominion of Otto von Bismarck rules. Some unreliable line infantry on the French left fell first, but their grenadiers smashed the fortified Prussian line. Even as the French center fell, the Guard were able to outflank their foes. #tabletop #wargaming

Some new additions to my 2 mm Franco-Prussian War. I settled on 24 cavalry per base, so here are two units each of Hussars, Cuirassiers, and more line infantry and HQ. I think the formations will help differentiate them on the tabletop. Hopefully I can paint these up soon. #tabletop #wargaming

Trying to decide on how to base my 2 mm Franco-Prussian War cavalry. At left I get 24 whether they're heavy or light; at right it's 16 or 18, respectively. But what looks better alongside the infantry? A line of heavy cav and loose-order hussars? Or the shorter and longer lines?

Played my first solo game of Dominion of Otto von Bismarck last night, with my 2 mm Franco-Prussian War minis. The French were fortified but worn down after constant shelling, while the Prussians rallied their initial losses and slowly ground down their stubborn foes. Very fun! #tabletop #wargaming

Painted the first of my Prussians for my 2 mm Franco-Prussian War, complete with tiny Pickelhauben. A little over 230 soldiers per side now. I was going to add turf to the other bases, but I want to vary the colors of the horses first. Can't wait to add some cavalry to these. #tabletop #wargaming

I haven't done much LEGO work lately. Occasionally I'll pop open Studio and try out some ideas, then think "I'll finish this later." Only I don't, and I wind up not sharing them. So here are some torso designs that I may or may not finish or use.

Finally painting more 2 mm Franco-Prussian War minis from Irregular Miniatures. Two more units of French line infantry join the test base, along with Guard Grenadiers, artillery (including a mitrailleuse), and HQ. Gotta add ground cover and maybe vary the horse colors a bit. #tabletop #wargaming

First time using lichen for terrain. Very nice texture, good density but lots of natural gaps. Easy to build up to a suitable height, enough to conceal but not fully hide my 15 mm Quar. I'll add a bit of turf and bushes along the edges later. #tabletop #wargaming

Added fine turf to my 2 mm test bases. Pleased with the Franco-Prussian War French. The Valkyria Chronicles infantry disappears a bit, but grouped into platoons it'll read well enough, and the vehicles look great. Might adjust later; still learning how to approach this scale. #tabletop #wargaming

Current 15 mm Quar collection together for a photo, albeit minus the pkypyks. My latest work was to ready two more squads, unpainted but now available for full section v section battles. Still a bunch of other models yet to be started, but it's nice to see the progress. #tabletop #wargaming

Well, naturally my favorite Shipbreaker moment was designing LEGO builds of all of the ships. But in-game, it was learning how to safely salvage an Atlas' thrusters from within, gliding through as flames erupt on every side. A uniquely satisfying experience, which sums up this masterpiece nicely.

Second half of this batch of 15 mm Quar. Grenadiers and half a Gun Squad are ready for ground cover. Barely started on the Ghrykyn, but the driver is magnetized and I painted two Grenadiers leaving the assault ramp—just need to attach them to a bit of card. #tabletop #wargaming #miniaturepainting

Almost finished painting up my next batch of 15 mm Quar. These Creevin Weapon Teams are done, minus ground cover, along with their section's is-Caerten. I also painted up a Syrnol to command the whole company or serve as an objective. More Easky models next. #tabletop #wargaming #miniaturepainting

Started painting my 2 mm Irregular Miniatures in Valkyria Chronicles colors. Very tiny, very abstract, but I think they're doing what I need 'em to. Grass on the bases will help stuff stand out and vehicles are still WIP. Opinions welcome on tan vs. red for Empire vehicles. #tabletop #wargaming

I've finally decided how I'll base these 2 mm Irregular Miniatures for O Group. I have enough for four such companies, plus an assortment of support weapons and vehicles. But these are my initial test batch, which I'll be painting up as the Gallian Army from Valkyria Chronicles. #tabletop #wargaming

Had some new ideas for this mecha extraction game, so I adjusted this design and made a few variants. The goal is to find and escape with loot, then spend it to upgrade your weapons and armor. Still lots more to work out, including whether enemies will have unique designs or just share these. #LEGO

More 15 mm Quar painted up, though still lacking grass. These are pykpyks, squirrel-like creatures trained to carry orders like messenger pigeons, which serve to track which units can activate. I managed to give each a unique color, and a few have stripes or other patterns. #tabletop #wargaming

Painted up my first base of 2 mm minis from Irregular Miniatures. French line infantry for the Franco-Prussian War. Despite the small scale I was able to pick out lots of details like faces, gaiters, backpacks, and bedrolls thanks. Very excited about this project now. #tabletop #wargaming
