Follow up to the above: I have no clue what this is meant to be.

On a path in woods, two vertical posts and a threshold, but no stile or gate, just an empty framed space.

Some excellent stiles from a walk along the Afon Llugwy near Betws-y-coed the other day.

A friendly step-stile in some woods. The hand-post is a nice height.

Same stile from the other side. Conveniently-placed rock provides that essential third step.

Ladder stile over a stone wall. Warning signs attached tell me to keep my dog on on a lead and clean up after it. I dont own a dog so that felt like a bit of wasted energy.

Monster of a stile. 3 steps, followed by a fenced-in approach to stone steps leading up to the A5 and the road bridge over the River above Swallow Falls.

This is what I was looking at...

All of the mountains of Northern Eryri, under a sky of mixed cloud and sun. Only the summit of Yr Wyddfa is in cloud, all of the other tops are clear.

On the summit of Carnedd Llewelyn on Friday. Very hard work, it's been over 20 years since I last tackled a mountain route, and I may have over-cooked it a bit. Everyone survived, though, so let's just move on and put the day in the "success" column.

The view from our holiday accommodation - pretty much all of the mountains of northern Eryri. Tryfan is, as ever, the obvious stand-out, with its Stegosaur silhouette.

A very tidy step stile on the way down to the A5 from Ffynon Llugwy reservoir. 13 mile, 7-hour day with a 3000ft peak, wild ponies, a crashed Canberra bomber, the highest body of water in Wales and a bunch of very tired young adults.
