we filled the bowl in no time, and ate so many mushrooms for dinner!

a stainless bowl is set on the ground amongst blooming dandelions and purple violets, cinquefoil, young grasses, and forest duff. inside the bowl there are a dozen fresh picked morels.

many many naturalized ramps emerging from forest duff in April in USDA zone 5b on both sides of a high tensile electric pasture fence.

Pinto potatoes, the best

‘Pinto’ potatoes with red skin spotted with yellow clustered in a cross section of a potato hill being harvested by hand. the soil is dark brown and has nice granular texture. an earthworm is hanging from a soil macropore between the potatoes. lots of fine white roots from garden weeds are visible.
